What a fun time 👽🛸 @bass.n.babes ~ thank you for letting me set up and paint 🎨🐸 the bass was so unreal that cups were dancing! I love painting at shows because I get to connect with yall <3 someone mentioned the owl is her grandfathers spirit form, how special for him to show up that night for her. I love painting animals lately because each one resonates for a different reason for everyone. How neat 🥰

Today I tried sumatriptan 50 mg for the first time alongside my preventative medication Nurtec 50mg for my hemiplegic migraines with aura diagnosed. If you’re new here, I’ve had these since I was about seven years old. For some reason, I’ve had one to two every single month the last 4 to 5 months, which is abnormal for me.

I used to get these migraines maybe once every quarter, once every year. I saw a new neurologist last week. She was awesome. The thing with migraines is there’s a multitude of factors that can cause migraines. It can be a perfect storm situation. Literally.

I moved to Colorado because of the weather, but didn’t take into the fact that the pressure from the storms can also be a trigger as well as the wildfires. With my MCAS, it can also be a trigger. so this week I had made Alfredo from scratch and think that played a role in two causing my migraine today. It can also be my pillow. My dreams causing me to wake up or clench my jaw. It can be food. It can be stress in the waking life. It can be calmness after stressful week. Getting up too fast and turning on lights can trigger it as well.

Regardless today, I tried a new medication for the first time in my life. I was very nervous about it. There’s a lot of online discourse about sumatriptan. It does have a bit of serotonin in it, which I find very interesting. I still need to do more research on it. I did have a really hard time reading things more than usual after I took the pill which frustrated me to the point of tears because why can’t I remember what a four letter word means. Why can’t I type out a simple little message? These migraines frustrate me in lieu of me also being back in college. I’m very thankful for the Disability resource center to provide me accommodations with my professors. I’m about to email them and let them know that I had an episode this morning and that I might need an extension on my work.

I’m keeping a diary of these things because I would genuinely like to see the data after I find a good concoction of medication that will work. 🐸🫪🐸🫪🐸🫪 by @somewackart

🫪 <— how my head feels atm

I have all symptoms that mimic strokes. It’s very unnerving and at this point of having there specific migraines for almost 20 years that I just power through. Luckily there is now medicine available to me that helps alleviate so I can go to work for a little bit. Key word, little bit. Which is why I’m reaching out to my community for help by @somewackart

Since moving to denver, I have had such a fun time going and being apart of community driven gatherings and events for charities. This is something I have always done ~ raising money for good causes. It’s not much but it’s honest work 🌞 I wound up not bringing my live painting supplies for this event because truthfully, I’m exhausted. I wanted to create but didn’t have the patience to paint but thankfully @althealienart brought collage supplies to the @dance.withoutborders event at @beacondenver on May 3rd 2026! It was so much fun to get back to my Collaging roots and create something that sparked joy in my soul. Lately I’ve been doing digital Collaging which is funnnn but definitely love a good session of cutting up random items in magazines and winding up with something tangible.
