I think it’s time to re-introduce myself, especially for those who’ve recently joined us here!

I am Valentina and I am the founder of Somewhere Crazy. We are a boutique Elopement Agency, creating sophisticated and incredible elopement experiences all across Europe.

I was 11 the first time I traveled outside Italy, my home country. A trip to London, with my aunt. I don’t remember much of what I saw, but I remember how it felt. My world cracked open... and I never stopped chasing that feeling.

In 2014 I learned about elopements. I recognized it instantly, the same freedom that trip gave me. Permission to choose your own path.

That’s what Somewhere Crazy is built on. Today it’s me and my amazing team of six, planning intimate elopements across Europe for couples who want something authentic, something real, something that actually reflects who they are.

An elopement on the Amalfi Coast means saying your vows with Positano and the sea right behind you. Katie and Connor did it on a private rooftop, with a violin and cello playing La Vie en Rose as she walked in.

After that, a quiet walk through the village on their own. Then a private dinner on the terrace with everyone they love.

Why Positano works for an elopement in Italy:

An elopement on Lake Como puts you on one of Italy’s most famous lakes, with historic villas, gardens and mountains all around the water.

For Aimee and Sean, the reason was simple. They wanted the most romantic place they could think of for something this intimate.

Good to know before eloping on Lake Como:
▪ Italy’s third-largest lake, surrounded by mountains
▪ Villas and gardens on the water, like Villa del Balbianello and Villa Carlotta
▪ Ferries between Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio, often the easiest way to get around
▪ Como town is about an hour by car from Milan Malpensa airport
▪ Late spring and early autumn for mild weather and quieter villages

Aimee and Sean got exactly what they came for. The most romantic setting they could find, for a moment that was all theirs.

An elopement in Sintra can give you two very different Portugal backdrops in one day.

Fairytale palaces hidden in forested hills, then wild Atlantic cliffs at the very edge of Europe, all about 40 minutes from Lisbon.

Lee Ann and Marvin brought their friends and family along, plus a serious appetite for pastéis de nata. Lisbon kept reminding them of San Francisco, the city at the heart of their relationship. Steep hills running down to the water and a red suspension bridge over the Tagus will do that.

What to expect when eloping in Sintra and Cabo da Roca:
▪ Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, with cliffs around 140 m above the Atlantic
▪ A west-facing coastline, so sunset lands straight over the ocean
▪ Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and mossy forest roads inside a UNESCO World Heritage landscape
▪ Sintra's own microclimate: cooler, often misty, and seriously windy on the cliffs. Pack a layer.
▪ Early mornings and golden hour for the quietest viewpoints

For Lee Ann and Marvin, that meant a day that moved from misty hills to open ocean with everyone they love along for it. They already know they'll be back.

A Lake Como elopement can start the moment you step off a boat. Miliana and Evan arrived at Villa Monastero in Varenna by water, with a violinist playing through their ceremony.

A big traditional wedding never felt right for them. So they kept it small, with a few loved ones close and the lake stretched out behind them 🤍

Kristin and Sean chose Positano for their Amalfi Coast elopement, and said their vows on a terrace looking out over the town 🤍

After the ceremony, a private driver took them down into Positano for photos and pizza, then back for the night.

What makes Positano so special for an elopement in Italy:
▪ Pastel houses built into the cliff, all the way down to the sea
▪ The tiled dome of Santa Maria Assunta, just above Spiaggia Grande
▪ Sea views from almost anywhere in town

Kristen and Jake's Tuscany elopement started slow, getting ready at a countryside estate in the hills of southern Tuscany.

Then a short drive up to Montepulciano for photos on the old town streets. The ceremony came last, at the Baccoleno viewpoint, timed for sunset.

Why so many people choose eloping in Tuscany:
