It’s been exactly one month since I started this little Bookstagram 📚

I honestly didn’t expect how much I would enjoy this space, but I’ve loved sharing books, quotes, and talking with other readers.

So I thought it was finally time to say hello and properly introduce me, the reader behind the page.

Hi, I’m Somin. A teen reader who loves fantasy, dystopian worlds, and getting way too emotionally attached to fictional characters.

I’m really grateful for everyone who has followed or interacted with my posts this past month. It means more than you know 🤍

Now tell me about you!

Our Perfect Match by @authormacayladawn

This was such a short, cute romance and exactly what I needed! It was my first sports romance, and I finished it in about three hours. Perfect for travelling or when you want something lighthearted!

What surprised me most was how much I related to Piper. She puts so much pressure on herself to be the best, and I understood that feeling of tying your identity to one thing. What happens when the thing that defines you no longer goes as planned?

I loved how the story explores finding joy in the present instead of constantly worrying about what’s next. There were also some surprisingly meaningful moments about self-forgiveness, expectations, and learning that you don’t have to do everything alone🥹

The romance was adorable, too! I loved Piper and Chace’s chemistry, and their relationship didn’t rely on endless miscommunication to keep things interesting. Even without knowing much about tennis, I could easily follow the sports side of the story.

My biggest complaint? I WANTED MORE😭 Everything moved so quickly that I wished I could spend more time with the characters and their development. I’d also love to learn more about the side characters because there’s so much potential for more stories in this world!

Overall, this was a fun, heartwarming four-star read that reminded me to slow down and enjoy the present. A quick, heartwarming read that left me smiling long after I finished💗

QOTD: Do you prefer short, quick reads or long books that let you spend more time with the characters?📚

🚀🌌Apparently, google had to inform me that october 4–10 is world space week because HOW did I not know this??

So naturally, I decided to share my little cosmic TBR with you!📚✨

After reading Project Hail Mary and The Lunar Chronicles, I’ve been wanting to explore the sci-fi genre more, and apparently my TBR has decided that our little green planet just isn’t enough anymore🪐 from lunar cities to intergalactic adventures, I’m ready to see what else is out there!

Now, if only I could actually travel into these books…

💫 QOTD: If you could travel anywhere in space, whether it’s a real planet or a fictional world, where would you go? and why?👀🚀

The Bodyguard-Katherine Center

I’m not really a romance reader, but somehow every romance I’ve read this year has been a five-star read, and The Bodyguard was no exception.

I read this in ONE sitting, which I haven’t done in forever! I was worried I was heading into a reading slump, especially with exams coming up, but this book completely pulled me out of it😭

I actually found it because of the upcoming Netflix adaptation, Guarding Stars, and immediately thought, “I HAVE to watch this.” Then I decided to read the book first, and I’m SO glad I did.

The story follows Hannah, a professional bodyguard assigned to protect Jack, a famous actor staying at his family’s Texas ranch. Naturally, fake dating enters the picture😂

I especially loved the role reversal. Hannah is the strong, capable one literally there to protect him, and watching her take on that role was SO much fun.

Surprisingly, the romance wasn’t even my favourite part. The story also explores grief, healing, and moving forward after loss. Hannah’s journey felt genuinely heartfelt, and there were so many little moments about grief that stayed with me.

And THE SETTING. A cosy Texas ranch with horses, cows, lakes, and countryside moments? I absolutely loved it🤍

There were so many moments where I was just smiling and giggling at the page. I went in thinking, “I’m not really a romance reader,” and came out thinking, “Okay, maybe I have a problem.”😭

Definitely one of my favourite romances this year, and now I’m SO excited for the movie! 🎬

QOTD: What’s a book you picked up because of its movie adaptation and ended up loving?

🍰 Favorite Fictional Guys Character Elimination — Round 4

Round 3 is officially over, and after all your votes, Jacks and Cardan have officially been eliminated😭

That leaves us with SIX characters!

For this round, we’re stepping into the interview room… for what may be the most ridiculous investigation yet.

Someone ate Peeta’s cake.
The entire cake.
And somehow, this has turned into a full investigation.

Each of the six suspects gets questioned about where they were, what they know, and who they suspect. Some are taking this very seriously. Some absolutely do not care. And Percy is mostly just offended that nobody saved him a piece.

I had WAY too much fun making this one, especially imagining how each of them would react to being questioned over something this stupid😂

Everything is based on my own interpretation of the characters, so feel free to agree, disagree, or come up with your own theories in the comments!

🔎 Now it’s your turn to investigate.

Who do you trust the least?

➕Eliminate = +1
➖Save = −1

Voting closes before Round 5!

QOTD: Who do you think stole the cake? 🍰👀

Tempests and Tea Leaves- @authorrachelmorgan

This was a FULL five-star read for me. I absolutely loved it!🫖✨

If you enjoy Regency fantasy, you NEED this on your TBR. The fashion, refined dialogue, stunning ballroom scenes, vibrant night markets, and masquerade balls created such a vivid world that I genuinely wanted to step right into it.

And if you love Pride and Prejudice, you’re in for a treat. Iris and Jasvian gave me such strong Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy energy. One is full of pride, the other is holding onto prejudice, and watching them slowly challenge each other’s assumptions was an absolute joy.

Plus, there’s fae magic! The book also delivers so much more plot than a standard romance. The magical lore, shifting events, and central mysteries kept me completely hooked.

And the YEARNING. The sheer tension. So many tiny moments had me absolutely losing it😭

What impressed me most was the character development. Iris, as a half-fae, constantly feels out of place in high society and struggles with self-doubt about her apprenticeship. Jasvian carries an enormous amount of responsibility and keeps tight control over his life. Watching them both work through their own internal struggles was just as satisfying as watching their relationship develop.

It took me around 100 pages to fully settle into the story’s rhythm, partly because I was in a bit of a reading slump, but once it grabbed me, I devoured it.

The atmosphere, magic, character development, slow-burn tension, and Regency setting came together so perfectly. This is definitely a book I’ll be thinking about for a while.

5/5 ⭐️

This was my first book by Emily J. Taylor, and I genuinely had such a fun time with it!✨

After reading so much dystopian lately, Hotel Magnifique was exactly the kind of whimsical fantasy I needed. It gave me that giddy, magical feeling I always look for, with a little Caraval energy mixed in.

The Hotel Magnifique is a magical hotel that changes locations every midnight, filled with enchanted rooms, mysterious bars, magical performances, and people called Suminaires who possess magical abilities. The whole setting felt like Hogwarts meets dark secrets, and I was fascinated by it from the beginning.

And then there’s Jani! She’s feisty, straightforward, determined, and exactly the kind of protagonist I love. I also really enjoyed her dynamic with Bel. Their chemistry was so much fun, and their banter had me giggling more than once😂

I also loved the found-family aspect. Beatrice, Friggya, Hellas, Zosa, and the other Suminaires made the hotel feel like more than just a setting. I especially loved Beatrice’s character arc, and Jani and Zosa’s sisterhood was so sweet🥹

The descriptions of the hotel were gorgeous and made everything so easy to picture, although sometimes they felt a little too long and interrupted the pacing. I also struggled with the writing style in a few places.

The plot had some really fun twists, and I was genuinely surprised by several of them. I wasn’t completely convinced by the final confrontation, though, especially after all the buildup.

Still, I finished this in under 24 hours because I couldn’t put it down. It gave me exactly what I was craving: magic, romance, found family, gorgeous world-building, and characters I couldn’t stop thinking about.
4.3/5 ⭐️
