Trading city noise for a high-altitude tea party where the mountains are literally flexing in velvet green. 🏔️✨ Up here in the Sri Lankan highlands, the views are crisp, the hills are rolled in endless emerald carpets, and the mist rolls in like it’s auditioning for a fantasy movie. It turns out “Ceylon tea” tastes approximately 1000% better when you’re sipping it above the clouds, watching the tea pluckers casually out-work your daily step count. If you need me, I’ll be busy romanticizing my life in a landscape that’s constantly steeping with pure magic. ☕️🍃

Sri Lanka - part 3
The elephant safari at Minneriya National Park was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. We have never seen SO MANY elephants.🐘 A lot of the different herds we saw had 1-2 newborns. They were sooooo adorable 🥹 At times we were so close we could have put our hand out of the jeep and touched them (but we didn’t lol). Such gentle giants. Such incredible beasts. And so intelligent and family oriented. When the jeeps got close, all the females put the babies in the middle and gathered around them, shielding them from the humans. ☺️

There were about 50 jeeps that entered the park at the same time. It was a bit chaotic when everyone spotted the same herd for the first time. 😣 But thereafter, our guide took us around the park separately away from the crowds and we saw many herds, lone adults, water buffalo, spotted deer, peacocks, and many other birds.

All thanks to our incredible tour company @metshu_travels for getting this all into the itinerary.

Sri Lanka - part 2
We stayed at Heritance Kandalama for 5 days during our trip. And while that was the “base” we did daily excursions. One of those was to Sigiriya (Lion Rock), the rock fortress and the 8th wonder of the world.
I’ve only been to Sigiriya once when I was 7 years old. But did not climb to the top. I remember my mom and I staying by the lion paws.
This time, we conquered all 1,200 steps to the top. Completely blown away by the fortress on top, the architectural marvel, and the technology from 1,500 years ago. The history and the views were truly remarkable. Definitely one of the most breathtaking places I’ve been to.
All this was organized by our amazing tour with @metshu_travels. Our wonderful guide, Nalin also took on the role of photographer in this situation 😄

Sri Lanka - part 1
Spent a few days at Jetwing Blue in Negombo. A much needed tropical escape and a great start to our month long trip in Sri Lanka. It’s off season for this part of the island, so rough seas. That didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach and pools, along with incredible food, and some family time with Ashan’s family that he was seeing after 16 years. Seyshia’s first visit to the island and safe to say she had a wonderful time here. 😊
Shoutout to the amazing and wonderful staff and the incredible service and hospitality.
A great start to our trip thanks to the impeccable tour and accommodation put together by @metshu_travels 🙏🏼💚
