The Owl & Sonaura - Psithurism

https://adventurousmusic.bandcamp.com/album/psithurism

Psithurism by Sonaura and The Owl is a split album dedicated entirely to the acts of listening, sonic transformation, and slow discovery.

Sonaura’s contribution leads deep into a nocturnal, subterranean soundscape: sounds from the immediate surroundings evolve into a dark journey through the forest and into damp caves and chambers, where siren-like calls, grinding wheels, and wailing machines echo.

The Owl approaches the material from a different angle, transforming recordings of trains, nature, woodworking, and other everyday atmospheres into hypnotic—and at times bizarre—sound loops, overlaid with waves of synthesizers and delicate electronic layers.

Throughout this journey, Psithurism remains pleasantly unpredictable. Waves of synthesizers and finely woven electronic layers overlay the original recordings without obscuring their raw, physical quality. Instead, they heighten the sense that a distinct world lies hidden behind the sounds – a world existing somewhere between nature, machine, and memory.

KINDLING! 🔥🪵
Hey hello hi it’s been a minute! hope everyone is looking after themselves. this past month i’ve been working intensely on making a new sample pack for the wonderful @soundghostofficial which finally got released yesterday!

often i’m asked if peeps can sample or remix my jams here and while i’m fully into sharing and continuing musical conversations, a lot of this is daily journaling and clips of work in progress. making this pack has allowed me to create a whole family of original loops and one shots that anyone can use.

the main premise for me was to share sparks of ideas that would hopefully influence and inspire other people’s projects. phrases, melodies, layers, sfx, atmospheres.. all through the lens of crunchy, warpy cassette tape.

Head to my bio or Soundghost for the link 🫶🏻

Cheers! - Greg by @sonauramusic

Found the og jam from one of the pieces on the new collab album w @theowlpp ! This one is called 'Inner Chamber' and as you can see is based around tape loops and a noise box i made out of a baking soda tin. The whole jam is now up on youtube too if you wanna zone out on that.

Also just realised we made this album like early 2025? can remember listening to mixes while night walking around then but damn. that's a long old time ago!

Anyways. Massive thanks Paul and AM ❤️

'Psithurism' can be found on @adventurous.music bandcamp by the way. Link in my bio. x

hey it’s been some time since i actually posted a thing. keep getting close but my brain gets in the way.
anyway i made a new thing, a smaller noise box that feels more me actually - largely in that it’s already scratched up tf and is all about getting hands on to make a versatile racket of textures. i’ll be making these to order if anyone’s interested - give me a shout here or look on the etsy: noisetoys.etsy.com

in the meantime here’s a clip of some play time i had with it yesterday. big love ❤️

Give me any note and i will make it sad!
[full jam of this on youtube btw]
One of my favourite musical things has always been to start with something simple and react to it, usually to subvert it in some way. change the initial feeling. often this tends toward a sadness of some kind. it’s just what comes out.

hope you enjoy it anyway. gave me something to lose myself in for a bit.
