Art is how humans process the world. It’s how we communicate what words can’t quite capture. It’s how we make life more beautiful.

There’s something special about the creative community here in Flagstaff.

We like to move. We like to make things. We like to play outside, learn from each other, dance under the stars, and find slightly unusual ways to spend a weekend.

Southwest Flow Festival grew out of that spirit.

Now in our fifth year, @sondering.community is bringing the community back together September 18–20 at @thegatewayranch for a weekend of movement, flow arts, workshops, music, dancing, creativity, camping, fire circles, and connection.

And you absolutely do not need to be an experienced flow artist to have fun here!

SWFF is for beginners, longtime flow arts practitioners, families, dancers, artists, curious humans, and anyone who wants to spend a weekend outside learning, playing, creating, and meeting wonderful people.

If you live in Flagstaff and this sounds like your kind of thing, we’d love to have you join us.

Super grateful and excited to be selected to teach my Tame your Devil stick workshop and preform @southwestflowfestival. I started going to flow festivals 3 years ago and this will be my third time in a row going to SWFF. I love @thegatewayranch @sondering.community you’ve definitely created something truly special and I’m looking forward to sharing a little light with y’all.
My workshop will be for anyone beginner or advanced and will discuss the basics of Devil/flowersticks. Balance, Tick Tock, Helicopters, Propellers, Buzzsaws and basic stick play. I will have 8-9 extra pairs for those looking to try this prop out. See you there and if you’re not following me yet, please hit that button and give me a follow. Much love see y’all soon!

We released 50 discounted tickets for Southwest Flow Festival, and 43 of them are already gone.

This year was such an incredible reminder of what this community is capable of when people show up with openness, creativity, generosity, and a willingness to be part of something.

So many times throughout the weekend, I looked around and thought, “Wow. These are our friends. These are our friends’ friends. This is our community.”

Many of you have shared how much this gathering meant to you. A few people asked some version of, “How can I help?” or “How can I contribute more to this?”

My first answer is always the simplest one: keep showing up.

Keep being part of it. Keep bringing good people. Keep offering your creativity, your presence, your care, your weird ideas, your useful skills, and your full self.

That really is the heart of it.

When we first imagined Mosaic, the vision was always about celebrating the talent, knowledge, creativity, and artistic beauty of this community. And this year, I genuinely felt like I witnessed that vision come to life in a way we had never experienced at this level before.

Our amazing friend and photographer, @_ashley_darling_ , captured a beautiful gallery from the weekend. Please go find photos of yourself and your friends, post your favorites, tag your people, tag us, and help spread the word about what we just created together.

A few incredible moments from Mosaic this past weekend at Gateway Ranch. There was so much beauty all around me. Music, laughter, art, connection, meaningful conversations, families blowing bubbles with their children, dancing together in the dome, making art, and even spinning music together. No other event comes close to the style of community building that Mosaic has tapped into. What a beautiful blessing it was to try and capture it all happening, all at once, through a single lens. Thank you for sharing a part of your story with me.

My first art installation was truly magical✨✨✨, something I've aspired to for years. Thanks to @mosaic.gathering and @sondering_life for creating a supportive space, offering encouragement, and showing love. You all are the most amazing community I could wish for. 🌈🌬️🫶 I didn't take many photos, but I'll hold these moments in my heart forever! Thank you, @adam_handyman_neville, for building me this sweet & strong display that stood up to the wind for my painting!
