Sometimes the hardest part of songwriting is doing the work when you have no idea where it’s leading.

The songs that don’t get cut still teach you something. The co-writes that don’t lead anywhere still make you better. The seasons that feel slow are still preparing you.

You can’t control when your opportunity comes. You can control whether you’re ready for it.

Keep writing. Keep showing up. taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @songchasers

A reminder for every songwriter who has ever wondered if they’re talented enough:

You don’t have to be the best singer, the most technical producer, or the strongest lyricist in every room. Put in the work, be someone others want to work with, and keep going long after it would be easier to quit.

Consistency will take you further than talent alone ever could taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @songchasers

Your mix might not need a new sample… it might just need one click. 👀

Welcome to Mix Rescue 🚨🎛️ A new series where we’re giving you one simple fix to elevate your mix in under 60 seconds.

First up: PHASE.

When your drums and layered samples are out of phase, you could be losing:
🥁 Punch
🔊 Clarity
💥 Bottom end

And sometimes, fixing it is literally as simple as flipping the polarity.

Same kick. Same samples. Way more impact.

Save this one for your next mix + try it on your drums. 👇

Everyone wants a bigger chorus… so they keep adding more.

More synths. More guitars. More pads. More vocals. More everything.

But here’s the catch: bigger isn’t always busier.

The biggest, most impactful choruses usually have a few intentional elements that each have room to shine. When every frequency is fighting for attention, nothing actually feels big.

Before you add another layer, try this:
🎧 Mute tracks one by one.
🎧 Ask yourself, “Does this actually make the chorus stronger?”
🎧 Keep only what serves the song.

Sometimes the fastest way to a massive chorus is hitting mute, not record.

👇 Be honest… are you more likely to:
A) Overproduce your choruses
B) Leave them too empty

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but making music that people connect with doesn’t mean sacrificing your creativity

And being creative doesn’t automatically mean making something people can’t follow

The best records usually live somewhere in the middle

Have you ever finished a song and thought, “Is this too weird… or not unique enough?” 😅

You’re definitely not the only one. Tell me which side you struggle with most ⬇️

🎛️ New to mixing?

Stop guessing your EQ moves.

Waves Curves AQ listens to your track, analyzes it, and recommends EQ settings based on the audio you’re actually working with, not a one-size-fits-all preset.

It’s one of those tools that can speed up your workflow and help train your ears at the same time.
