Songs of the Stone by Inkpot India, with @hsbc_in ‘Live the Legacy’ brings internationally acclaimed vocalist @amritakaurmusic to Purana Qila, New Delhi for a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

From Dusk to Dawn, Amrita Kaur returns to India for two performances, twelve hours apart, within the historic walls of one of Delhi’s oldest surviving forts.
At Dusk, experience Ghazal, Sufi and Contemporary Music as the light recedes across Purana Qila. At Dawn, return for a more Contemplative and Spiritual programme as the fort comes alive with first light.

All the way from New Zealand to New Delhi, @amritakaurmusic brought the soul of Punjabi Sufi music to the historic walls of Purana Qila.

The morning chapter of Songs of the Stone: Dusk to Dawn, by Inkpot India in association with @hsbc_in’s Live the Legacy, was a meeting of music and monument. A voice rooted in a rich musical heritage, finding its place amidst stones that have stood for centuries.

As the first light touched Purana Qila, its ancient walls held a new kind of stillness. And Amrita’s voice filled the morning with the sounds of a legacy that continues to live on.

Grateful to every partner, patron, artist, and attendee who made this chapter possible.

Somewhere along the way, Songs of the Stone has become a yearly ritual for us. We were there last year at Qutub Minar, and this time, at Purana Qila.

There’s something lovely about finding experiences you want to return to, and having your favourite people become part of that tradition.

This edition took us from morning bhajans by the lake, with birdsong and a flautist leading us towards the stage, to Amrita Kaur’s Sufi music under the night sky. All against the backdrop of a place that has held centuries of history. It’s hard to think of a more beautiful way to spend a Sunday.

And I think that’s what I love most about experiences like these. You can go with your sibling, your parents, your best friend, a partner, or by yourself.

Culture lives in such experiences, in the places we gather, the music we listen to, the histories we encounter, and the memories we make with one another.
