13 years. ❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we only see people’s highlight reels on social media. And maybe that’s true. But what if you’re actually living in your highlight reel season? Because I think we are. ❤️

We’ve been in the thick of it. We’ve had seasons where things were hard, where nothing seemed to come easy, and where we were just trying to figure it all out.

And now? Life feels a little easier. The things we’ve dreamed about are happening. All those little Sonia dreams are coming true. 🫶🏻

And this man. He just keeps finding ways to make them happen.

The other night we were sitting in our separate recliners, and he reached over and held my hand. Just so we could be close. And honestly, that’s the stuff right there. The little things that are actually the big things.

I don’t know how long this season will last. Maybe life will throw us another curveball. Maybe it won’t. But I’ve decided I’m not going to spend the good days waiting for the other shoe to drop. We have earned this happiness. And I want to celebrate it. The big things, the little things, the dreams coming true, and the man sitting in the recliner next to me who makes my whole world feel so special.

Life isn’t always a highlight reel. But sometimes it really is this good. And I’m here for every second of it.

I wanted pictures taken this weekend, so I was left to my own devices, my ideas, a tripod, and my friend Megan working her magic with some editing! 😂

There were a few things I really wanted to capture. The weeping willow I fell in love with the very first time we saw our home, the skyscraper of pine trees right outside our front door, and the road I walk that brings me peace and joy in every single season. And if you look closely enough, you’ll also see Aaron’s patience shining through. 😂😂

Do I wish I had a photographer telling us how to pose awkwardly so the pictures turned out better? Uh, YES! Do I wish I had someone who knew a thing or two about lighting and timing? Again, YES! 😂

But you know what? I love how these turned out. Because somewhere in all the awkward poses, giggles, figuring things out, and Aaron patiently going along with all my ideas, we captured a little piece of US. ❤️

And out of all the humans in this big ol’ world, how lucky am I that you picked ME?!

You are the steady hand, the recipe follower (because heaven forbid we just wing it 😂), the guy who doesn’t think twice about making an extra trip or putting in a little more work just to make something perfect.

The man who will literally get down on his knees to kiss me just so we can be eye level. 😂

You have the biggest heart, the patience of a saint (I know cuz I test it 😉), and this way of making the people around you feel loved without ever making a big deal about it.

There are a million little things about YOU that make my world so special. And I hope you know how incredibly special you are, not just to me, but to everyone lucky enough to have you in their life.

You deserve a BIGGER THAN LIFE birthday!! So let’s see just how much celebrating, spoiling, and ridiculousness we can squeeze into one day! 🥳😂
