Recently, a lot of great music has been released, and as always, I chose my favorites to share with you.

Amaria’s “What’s It Gonna Take?” is the biggest highlight for me. She just can’t miss when it comes to putting out the most incredible music. I’m also happy that we’re staying in the ‘80s soundscape from her previous single, “‘Til We Meet Again.” Fingers crossed an album is on the way.

646yf4t and Rowena Fysx’s “Alright, alright” might be one of the best and most unexpected collaborations this year. There’s something about the melody of the chorus that scratches a part of my brain, and I find myself replaying it over and over again.

Some of the other tracks include “old days.” by tabü, which I’ve been impatiently waiting to come out, “Heavenly Lust” from Asi Kemera’s new album “JETTY,” which is skipless to me, and more.

One of my favorite R&B albums to come out this decade that I’ve always wanted to spotlight but haven’t had a chance before is “WONDERLOVE” by Chase Shakur, and today I’m excited to finally tell you more about it.

What stands out right away about this project is that Chase is an extremely versatile artist who’s able to push his sound beyond the sonics of R&B that we all know, while also having a deep understanding of a genre and what makes it sound good. The sample selection alone is mind blowing, from Kut Klose and SWV to even Sexyy Red.

From my initial listen, the track that stuck with me the most was “UNDERCOVER ANGEL,” but this record truly has some of my favorite songs. “2ofUs” and “FOCUS ON ME” sound like classic ‘90s R&B songs, and if you’ve listened to “FACE IT,” you know that it’s a summer anthem. Chase also extended the universe of the album by releasing a deluxe that added a few extra tracks, taking it to the next level.

As new music seems to be on the way, I’m excited to see how he’s gonna follow up “WONDERLOVE” and what he has in store for us. But as far as debut albums go, he really set the bar high and showed how much potential he has.

Toronto is home to so many incredibly talented artists and producers, and today I want to spotlight someone who’s excellent at both, Kalisway.

My favorite thing about her music is that you never know where it’s gonna take you. Across her discography, you hear influences from the ‘80s, ‘90s and beyond, but she always flips the formula and delivers some of the most interesting sonics.

Recently, she released her third album, “Unstoppable,” where she puts her own spin on the 2000s sound by fusing R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop and more together. The result is an expansive record that honestly sounds like nothing I’ve heard before.

I remember discovering her through the songs “When I Close My Eyes” and “Don’t Play With My Heart” last year and thinking she’s one of the coolest artists right now, and ever since, she just can’t stop proving me right.

I’m back with a bunch of amazing new songs that I’m dying to share with you!

I love stumbling across tracks that I can immediately tell sound like a future classic, and “WONDERMAN” by JEDSOUL is the one. From the lyrics to the melody to the production, it’s a perfectly crafted song.

Natanya released her new mixtape “ATTITUDE ERA!” which I already consider the best pop project of the year, and “SHOW ME RIGHT!” is a big standout for me. What I love the most about it is that it has that 90s/2000s feel to it, but at the same time it doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard before.

I’m not the biggest fan of covers, but PZU’s version of Sade’s “Be That Easy” is an exception. He reproduced the entire track from scratch, pairing it with his beautiful vocals. It makes you feel every single lyric so deeply, just like the original.

Other songs include addictive “Video” by Asi Kemera from her upcoming album “JETTY,” and more.

There’s something about the end of summer, a nostalgic, melancholic feeling that’s hard to put into words, so I picked 10 songs that capture it.

Hope you enjoy!

A lot of amazing songs have been released recently, and as always, I want to share them with you.

Every single song Asi Kemera dropped lately leading up to her new album is some of the best music I’ve heard this year, and “Wilt” in particular is a career highlight for me.

I don’t have words to describe how incredible Junior Mesa’s music is, but “the cops are coming” is a masterpiece. I’m hoping a full-length project is on the horizon.

Dani Offline is an artist I was introduced to a couple of months ago, and she keeps blowing me away with every release. I’m so excited for her debut album, “Lover’s Discourse,” next month.

One of the most unique artists, asri, released his new song “alice,” and listening to it for the first time was an out of body experience. What a stellar production.

Other releases include “HONEYMOON” by Parisalexa, which sounds like it’s straight from the early 2000s, and more.

Let me put you on to one of the best EPs I’ve heard in a while, “PATINA” by Casper Sage.

Mostly self-written and self-produced, the project touches on themes like nostalgia, uncertainty, loss and more, paired with 80s-reminiscent production.

The big highlight for me and also what feels like the heart of the record is a song called “bits + pieces,” which I’ve found myself coming back to over and over again.

One of my favorite things about Casper is his ability to make you feel every single word he sings, something that really stood out to me throughout this EP. I highly recommend everyone give it a listen if you haven’t yet.

The UK music scene has not only some of the most exciting artists at the moment, but also producers, and jkarri (Joshua Gaskin-Brown) is a prime example of that.

My first introduction to him was through his work with Natanya on her projects “Sorrow at Sunrise” and “Feline’s Return,” which he co-produced with her. Their work together reminds me of duos like Aaliyah and Timbaland or Brandy with Darkchild, when two talented people come together and create something really special.

What I love the most about Joshua’s production is how he has a great understanding of what made ‘90s and 2000s music so distinctive, while still pushing the sound forward. There’s something familiar about his sound, but it never feels like he’s trying to recreate what has already been done.

In the last couple of months, when hearing songs like “Girl” by Tora-i or “Missing U” by Essosa, I could immediately tell who produced them without checking the credits. To me, that says a lot about how great of a producer he has become.

Lovers Rock is a subgenre of reggae music created in London in the ‘70s, known for its romantic sound and lyrics, pioneered by artists like Louisa Mark and Janet Kay.

I wanted to showcase how this sound has evolved over the years, so I selected 10 songs ranging from classics that defined Lovers Rock to modern examples that show how its roots are still present in today’s music.

It’s time for another roundup of incredible songs that released recently, and this week we have a really good one!

I’ve been counting down the days for madamestarlet to release “Somerhalder” after listening to the snippet multiple times, and it exceeded my expectations by far. This sounds to me like an angel singing in my dreams.

Asi Kemera is back with “Set Yourself Free,” and my initial listen just reminded me how lucky we are to be able to experience music and artists like that in this lifetime. I highly advise everyone to tap in with her.

I wasn’t familiar with Ray Lozano before, but I’m glad I am now because her music, and especially her voice, are mesmerizing. Her newest track, “fallin,” is exactly the type of song I want to hear when I lay on the beach with my headphones on.

I’m a sucker for anything new jack swing, and “PLAY WITH A KISS!” by Natanya might be my favorite pop song of the year so far. She’s truly in a lane of her own.

Other favorites include “Autopilot” by Blession, which I love lyrically, “Verano!” by Ivana June, who’s another mind blowing new artist discovery for me, and more.
