Happy drawing a little summer moment. by @sonispeight

Barbs the little bat is the sidekick in a story I’m working on. She seems confident but really she’s a little unsure of things. I’m so fond of her I thought I’d give her a spotlight.

It’s October, it’s spooky season, and Story Jam is ready to embrace the strange and eerie.

This month we’ll be using vintage photographs and old black and white film stills to let our imaginations play with spooky characters, strange atmospheres, and unexpected stories.

Story Jam is a monthly creative session for writers, illustrators and storytellers of all levels. Follow prompts. Build characters. Leave with fresh material that might just become your next project.
Sunday 25th October, 4pm UK time on Zoom. Access is via Patreon and includes 2 years of replays.

For September Story Jam is moving to a Monday night!

Story Jam is a monthly session for writers, illustrators and storytellers : part creative workout, part idea generator, part fabulous company!

For this month’s theme we’re exploring NEW. New shoes. A new baby. A new creature. A new home. A new friend (or enemy). New leaves on an old tree. There are so many directions to go with it, and we all know that feeling of something arriving, expected or otherwise. So going to use that feeling to build new characters, new narratives, and new portfolio pieces.

Draw, write, or both.

If you want a head start, think of a new thing you remember encountering when you were a child. by @sonispeight

AD - (watch to the end for a happy dance)

I was so happy to be invited by Musso to try the Anydesk D7! I’d always fancied a standing desk but wasn’t sure I had the room for one.

Turns out this little green beauty is pretty perfect. I can stand, dance, or draw from the comfort of the sofa!

So if you fancy a flexible workstation on tiny wheels, use code
SONISPEIGHT at checkout on the Musso website for £25 off. Link’s in my bio

thank you @musso_eu @musso.us @musso_uk

We interrupt my usually child friendly feed with a peek at the adult section of my sketchbook. Don’t worry, these aren’t rudey nudies, some of these ladies aren’t even in the nip, but I do enjoy life drawing when I get the chance. Must do more of it!

A whole new fresh, yet busy, month.

But still time for this jaunty lot to play a jig or two. by @sonispeight

Bear was walking through the woods.
Yes, and...
he trod on something.
And then...
he fell over trying to pull it off his foot.
But...
he had absolutely no idea what it was.
Therefore...

I have been meaning to tell you about this month’s Story Jam.
We’re borrowing a trick from the world of improv comedy. A fun structure to build stories on the spot and I hope it is going to work beautifully for us too.

And then. But. Therefore.

Sunday 30th August, 4pm UK time on Zoom. Link in bio.

Story Jam is a live creative workshop for story creators, illustrators and writers
AND we use prompts to play with characters and generate story ideas.
BUT you have to show up to find out what happens
THEREFORE join me on a Sunday afternoon to see what ideas are sparked for you. by @sonispeight

Thanks for all the badger love, here he is again meeting sun sprites and gazing at the universe! I probably should draw him watching the eclipse.

These are from a previous Story Jam session, June’s Midsummer one, I think. by @sonispeight
