In the past my mother was always doing a seasonal cleaning in Spring and Autumn.
It also mend that the wardrobe of my sister and me was inspected to see what needed to be mended or sometimes needed to be replaced by something new.

I decided to do take a look at my leftovers and see if I could make something for Autumn and Winter.

Three leftovers were selected together with some lining.

The #cardiganjacket #madebyorangecoatevita was selected and five days later the jacket was finished.

I’m very pleased with the result and that some leftovers were turned into a nice warm jacket.

Today it was raining cats and dogs.
Perfect time to do some mending.

Last weekend youngest daughter gave me three pieces to mend: a dress with a tear and a seam that missed hemming stitches, a skirt that missed some hemming stitches and a jeans with a tear in the centre back seam.

A friend gave me a dress that she had but was one size too big. I took all the front and back darts in.

Another friend bought a bomber jacket that was to loose in the waist. I unpicked the ribbing and narrowed it 8 centimetres.

What is so ambitious about this August #SAGAM make?

For me it was getting a garment sewn in this month.

We had very sunny and warm days and sewing wasn’t a pleasure in our combined study.

I had a piece of leftover fabric from a T-shirt I made Last year I made a T-shirt for my husband and I had some off-cuts of the fabric that also had some misprint on the stripes.

All pattern pieces were cut at the beginning of August but it lasted until this weekend when it started to rain heavenly.

The T-shirt is my own design and sewn together using a #flatlock stitch.

Happy with the result and looking forward to see what the theme will be for September.

Vandaag met oudste dochter een rondje in de stad.

Op terugweg om onze fietsen op te halen bij
Boodschappen doen in Haarlem en op terugweg onze favoriete Siciliaan @quel_siciliano voor een heerlijke broodje(panino Etna) voor manlief die was thuis gebleven.

De winkel zit in de Grote Houtstraat en is een echte aanrader voor als je naast een heerlijk panino ook een fan bent van Italiaanse producten zoals pasta, wijn, kaas, worst en uiteraard Italiaanse biscotti.

Hij verkoopt ook kant en klaar dat je alleen nog maar thuis hoeft op te warmen.

Last day a friend of mine came to me with a just bought halter dress and a beach shelter.

Both needed some fixing

The shoulder straps were to long and needed to make shorter.

One of the tunnels for the poles from the beach shelter come loos.

Because today the temperature was low enough to do some sewing I decided to tackle it today because we will have the next few days high temperatures.

Youngest daughter her dress was destroyed during a bike ride.
She asked me if I could repair it.
Lucky for her this was along dress with a tiered skirt.
So we decided to unpick the lowest tier and use bias tape to create a new seam.
The dress is now wearable again and just in time because we have high temperatures with lots of sunshine.

In 2016 I made a pair of trousers that was part of the BOHO-chic challenge in the #knipster sewing challenge run by @knipmode.

A denim style gilet was on my wish list for some time.

It was a bit of puzzling to get not only the #giletpompon but also a #bfbestiebag size M from this pair of pants but this made it perfect for the June jigsaw #SAGAM theme with can be associated with puzzling.

I also used a piece of leftover denim from the Wooster jacket and a piece of leftover lining from my second Nathalie Mptard jacket
Buttons came from my button box. All other haberdashery are taken from discarded bags and a discarded bed topper was used to give the bestie bag more firmness.

Very pleased with the outcome and the fit of the #giletpompommaisonfauve and the size of my #bfbestiebag.

Twee jaar geleden werden we spontaan ontvangen door Marleen en haar echtgenoot toen we langs @samcoffeeheemstede liepen.

Ook vandaag bezochten we onze favoriete Heemsteedse koffiegelegenheid waar we graag koffiedrinken dat alweer twee jaar open is.

Spontaan, vriendelijk en altijd enthousiast personeel. Heerlijke koffie, altijd lekkere taartjes en lunches.

Van harte Marleen en crew: op naar drie jaar.

In 2016 I was one of the participants in the #knipster sewing challenge run by @knipmode.

This pair of trousers was part of the combination I made for the #bohochicstyle challenge.

It was time to give this pair of trousers after wearing it for many years but not for the last two years.

The #SAGAM theme (@suestoney, @spoolriversewing and @whendy7) for June is jigsaw with can be associated with puzzling.

I want to make not one but two items out of this pair of trousers. One is a garment and the second item is an accessoires. With this make is also involved some leftover jeans and a discarded bed topper.

Today we have lots of rain so perfect to start looking for patterns.
