Wisteria flowers are one of England’s beautiful treasures; they only bloom in a short three-week period from late April to mid-May, and that rarity makes them even more magical. In an effort to capture that magic, we’ve used this stunning embroidered @colefaxandfowler linen to create a beautiful pair of full oversized Cottage header curtains with the most luxurious pooling.

Handmade in our Wimborne workshop, we crafted this window dressing as part of a larger project for one of our wonderful clients. With a matching blue wisteria wallpaper (also from @colefaxandfowler) the result is a truly magical, whimsical space.

A design that needs no introduction is that of an Eames Lounge Chair – an unmistakable shape, with a matching ottoman.

Introduced in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair was designed by couple Charles and Ray Eames, and is made of molded plywood and leather. It was the first chair the Eameses designed for the high-end market, and has since become a staple of mid-century design.

This beautiful pair has been completed as a full restoration here in the House of Sonnaz workshop, with both the upholstery and woodwork carefully brought back to life by our small specialist team, using leather from the wonderful @futura_leathers.

There’s something particularly special about working on pieces like this – they’re not simply chairs, but important pieces of design history – and they deserve the knowledge, care and craftsmanship that comes with specialist restoration.

We’re proud to be trusted with this kind of work at House of Sonnaz.

Maggie’s dog bed is becoming quite the heritage craft project.

I’ve always had a fascination with traditional crafts and the people who dedicate their lives to mastering them, so I’m making the most of this project to explore a few along the way.

This time I’m visiting my fellow The Repair Shop expert Sarah Hatton of @hattonwillow, who grows her very own willow and creates beautiful handwoven pieces.

We explore her willow field and workshop before getting down to designing the woven base for Maggie’s bespoke bed.

Two traditional crafts coming together, and plenty to learn along the way.

🎬 Episode 3 is now on YouTube - the link for my channel is in my bio.

This exquisite embroidered @colefaxandfowler silk has been used to create a beautiful pair of full oversized cottage header curtains. Handmade in our Wimborne workshop, we crafted this window dressing as part of a larger project for one of our wonderful clients. We fitted the floor-length curtains for this incredible bay window, specified a bespoke pole (made to order) to stretch across the width of the window expanse. The result is truly beautiful, making the space feel intentional and polished.

How do I choose wallpaper for a room? A great question, and a discussion that we have often with our clients when we are working with them on a full project.

There are a few factors to consider, like the scale of a design, colourways, furniture, and of course, texture. There's no denying how wonderful the right wallpaper can look in the right room – this beautifully printed @colefaxandfowler wallpaper, which we specified for our client for this room, is a great example of choosing the right scale and style. The darker colour and softer accents work perfectly with the light furniture and fabrics of the space.

If you're looking for assistance in finding the perfect wallpaper for your space, I'd love to help you choose. Our contact details are on our website, alternatively please do email welcome@sonnaz.com

While working on a project for one of our wonderful clients in Chelsea, London, Sonnaz created these solid brass bespoke dress curtain poles for curtains that were over four meters tall.

The design process went from initial sketches on paper, to inspirational moodboards, and then finally a digital render of the final technical design before we had them made in solid brass by our specialist. Every step was thought through, considered and meticulously planned.

The curtain poles were made especially to dress this gorgeous expanse you can see – bespoke, and made in a wonderful wave style using @lamaisonpierrefrey fabric, they are a showstopper. What you can’t see, by design, are remote controlled sheer roller blinds behind the final touch of pelmets, painted to become invisible.
