Okay so words don’t do justice what these two people have done for my life and my wellness both mentally and physically.

A few weeks ago I hadn’t left the house for anything more than a doctors appointment for 5+ years.

My health was in ruins, my trust in people completely shattered.

I was an introverted writer with degrading health sending out words into the ether.

No network, no friendship circle, no one but the incredible mother of my daughter to support me in any capacity whatsoever.

And then I got a message.

I didn’t recognise his name, I didn’t know his face.

He was called Gary, and he wanted me to do something that sounded absolutely and completely insane, because it was.

After five years of barely leaving my house he wanted me to get on a plane and fly across 8 timezones to a far away country I had never been to and stay with him and his partner to proof read his book.

He asked if I would be open to the idea.

And against every fibre of fear that made up my broken body, I said yes.

What proceeded was without doubt the most life-changing experience of my 27 years on this earth bar the birth of my daughter.

I won’t say anymore, because unlike my words which I share for anyone and everyone this journey wasn’t for the world… it was for me.

I have given all that I can to those that I love, and done my best to find the words in peoples hearts and minds they could not find themselves.

But this journey, this risk, this beautiful and terrifying experience… is all mine.

And I have Gary and his incredible partner Haley to thank for it.

I won’t share any photos aside from this one.

Because again, this experience and the memories made aren’t for anyone else.

Thank you Gary, thank you Haley.

For showing me more love, kindness and compassion than any of the so called “friends” I had squandered so much of my precious time and wellness on throughout the years.

I will never forget this experience, or the memories and bonds forged
