Tomorrow, two years ago, we (from left to right: Boris, Oskar & Rijk) went live with Son of John. With little idea of what exactly we were doing, a batch of 600 boxer shorts and even less understanding of building a brand, we started on the 8th of October. While knowing so little, we knew one thing: we had created a brand for what in our eyes, and hopefully in those of many others, were the best loose-fit boxer shorts in the world. Selling the first 600 boxer shorts was the most difficult thing any of us had ever experienced. But after a lot of hiccups and failures, we slowly started to find out how to bring the first boxers to the first men. And with every boxer sold came another happy review from someone describing the boxers exactly as we did: the best boxer they had ever worn. So even on the days, or even weeks, that we sold nothing, that was what kept us going. After a year of struggle, it could not have turned out better. Selling thousands of boxers per day, from Amsterdam to the world, and getting these reviews not just from the Netherlands, but from America, Australia, England, Germany and everywhere in between. And believe us, we are not done for a long time. We are only done when your brother, your father, your son and your uncle all wear Son of John, so that everyone gets to feel the comfort of our boxershorts. As a thank you to all our customers for their loyalty and for keeping us going, we are doing something we have never done before: a birthday sale. Son of John turns two, and we're happy to celebrate it with you. To mark the occasion, our Anniversary Sale begins Thursday, October 8 at 8:00 AM local time. All our customers will be informed via mail.
