Today (9/27/26) at around 11:40 AM, Henry-One responded with CAL FIRE, North Sonoma Coast Fire Protection District, and Coast Life Support District to the area of Rocky Point, south of Sea Ranch, for a report of a subject clinging to rocks approximately 100 yards offshore.

While responding, Henry-One was advised there could be three subjects involved, with two additional individuals reported on a nearby rock. North Sonoma Coast Fire Protection District launched jet skis to assist with the response.

CAL FIRE personnel arrived and confirmed one subject was clinging to a rock and being struck by waves. The subject was soaking wet and appeared to have been in the ocean prior to reaching the rock.

Henry-One configured for a 100-foot longline rescue. The Sheriff’s Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) was flown to the subject, secured the victim in a horse collar rescue device, and the victim was extracted to the bluff where Coast Life Support District MED120 and MED122 were staged.

The victim was treated for cold water exposure and released at the scene.

The TFO was then flown back to the offshore rock to check the two additional individuals. They were determined to be unrelated to the rescued subject and were fishing from the rock. They refused to go with the TFO and remained on the large rock.

Today at approximately 12:45 p.m., Henry One responded along with the Timber Cove Fire Protection District, Coast Life Support District, California State Parks, the Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, and the Sheriff’s Office resident deputy to the Fort Ross State Park area for a fisherman who had been swept off the rocks by a wave.

The fisherman made it out of the water on his own but had sustained major injuries. Steep terrain prevented ground crews from reaching him. Using the cell phone caller’s GPS coordinates, Henry One located him with the helicopter’s camera, landed nearby, and configured a 100-foot longline. The sheriff’s tactical flight officer (TFO), who is also an EMT, was flown to the fisherman, assessed his injuries, and secured him in a hot seat rescue device.

Henry One flew the fisherman to a Timber Cove Fire Protection District unit staged at the fort. The TFO, fire personnel, and a California State Parks ranger treated him until a Coast Life Support District ambulance arrived. The fisherman and a Coast Life Support District paramedic were then flown to a local trauma center.

This rescue is another example of multiple agencies coordinating to reach a patient in difficult terrain, provide care, and get him to a trauma center.

Flood Season Loading

California declared a state of emergency today ahead of the forecasted El Niño season. While we can’t control the weather, we can prepare for it. The best way to keep yourself, your family, and first responders safe is to prepare now.

⚫️ Sign up for emergency alerts through SoCoAlert and Nixle and make sure your contact information is up to date.

⚫️ Know your flood risk and evacuation zone. Know multiple ways out of your area and have a plan for where you will go if you need to evacuate.

⚫️ Prepare a Go Bag with medications, important documents, extra batteries or charging devices, food and water, and supplies for pets.

⚫️ Keep an eye on weather and flood conditions once the rain begins. Conditions can change quickly.

⚫️ Have a plan for power outages and keep phones and other essential devices charged.

⚫️ Check on neighbors who may need additional assistance preparing or evacuating.

⚫️ Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Never walk, swim, or drive through floodwater.

Floodwater can affect many of the same roads and areas year after year, so plan your routes accordingly. Roads may flood before signs or barricades can be put in place, and flooded roadways may be damaged or washed out underneath the water.

Even a small amount of moving water can be dangerous. Just 6 inches of moving water can knock a person down, and 12 inches can sweep a vehicle away.

Allow extra time for travel, avoid unnecessary trips during severe weather, and never drive around barricades or road-closure signs.

Prepare now. Stay informed. Stay safe. taken in Sonoma County by @sonomasheriff

Off-Campus Gang Altercation Leads to School Lockdown

On September 18, 2026, at about 10:37 a.m., Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported disturbance involving a firearm in the 11000 block of Los Amigos Road.

The incident was first reported to a school official, who immediately contacted law enforcement. Deputies learned that the confrontation had taken place roughly 30 minutes earlier. By the time officers arrived, the three suspects were already on the Healdsburg High School campus and attending class.

At 10:47 am, based on the information provided by law enforcement, Healdsburg High School implemented a shelter-in-place in response to a student on campus who was possibly armed with a firearm. Numerous deputies and Healdsburg Police Officers responded and detained the three suspects on school grounds. The lockdown lasted approximately 50 minutes. No firearm was located on campus.

The incident started when two victims were leaving a residence for school when a silver car blocked their path. A juvenile suspect exited and confronted one adult victim; the two exchanged gang-related insults. A second vehicle then pulled up behind them, and a juvenile passenger got out. The victim retrieved a machete from his car to defend himself, while the passenger returned to the second vehicle and retrieved a black firearm he held at his side. The victims escaped by driving away.

The three juveniles were subsequently arrested and booked into Los Guilicos Juvenile Hall on the following charges:
    •    A 16-year-old was arrested for false imprisonment, challenging another person to a fight, conspiracy to commit a crime, a gang enhancement, and possession of alcohol on school property.
    •    A second 16-year-old was arrested for challenging another person to a fight, brandishing a firearm, conspiracy to commit a crime, and a gang enhancement.
    •    A 17-year-old was arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime, a gang enhancement, and possession of alcohol on school property.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office thanks the Healdsburg Police Department and Healdsburg High School staff for their assistance in this investigation.

Today, Henry One responded to assist the Petaluma Police Department with a pursuit involving a parolee wanted for a parole violation. Petaluma officers lost sight of the vehicle near Lakeville Highway.

After Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies observed the vehicle traveling southbound on Arnold Drive, Henry One located it eastbound on Highway 37. While tracking the suspect, Henry One coordinated with multiple law enforcement agencies across several radio channels and directed California Highway Patrol units toward the suspect. The Vallejo Police Department responded to assist.

With Henry One maintaining continuous visual contact and coordinating the response from the air, ground units were able to back off and create distance. Despite no patrol vehicles actively chasing him, the suspect continued driving recklessly at speeds exceeding 100 mph, passing vehicles on the shoulder and using the center median of the highway.

The suspect traveled into the Pinole and Hercules area before turning back toward Vallejo. He was ultimately taken into custody by Vallejo PD and CHP on Interstate 80.

Remembering 25 Years

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced an unimaginable tragedy. From that tragedy emerged extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, not only from first responders, but from countless people who stepped forward to help in the moments our nation needed them most.

Today, we pause in silence to honor those who answered the call, those who became helpers in a time of unimaginable need, and the 2,977 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

As we remember, may we also take a moment to appreciate the people and moments that matter most. September 11 reminds us that life can change in an instant, and that we should never take for granted the time we have with one another.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. by @sonomasheriff
