Close up shots of a completely wild Mountain Lion in its element on public land were high on my wildlife photography/videography bucket list. In this case the opportunity came to me, within 25 yards to be exact #mountainlion #sonoranshots #sonoranmade #ericforrestphotography #arizona #coconinonationalforest #flagstaff #cougar #puma #wildlifephotography #wildlifevideography #mtlion taken in Flagstaff, Arizona by @sonoranshots

Nature is cruel and brutal from multiple fronts. I was reminded of this when I came across this old Gila Monster late December near a natural spring. At over a foot long he was impressive, more so, was the fact that he was missing both his eyes and his mouth was full of maggots. He reeked of skunk spray and aimlessly wandered. I still wonder what his story was and will end up being, if he’s still pulling through. Arizona’s incredibly hot and dry winter has created very harsh conditions for survival. #natureismetal #sonoranshots #ericforrest #sonoranmade #nikonz8 #nikkor180600mm #arizona #nature #azwildlife #rawnature #gilamonster #gila taken in Arizona by @sonoranshots

The Coues Deer are still packing strong in Southern AZ . I did; however, see both an older coues and mule deer buck the first week of the month with velvet nubs already. #sonoranshots #sonoranmade #ericforrestphotography #coues #azwidllife by @sonoranshots
