There is a different kind of time at sea.

It moves with the tides, stretches beneath endless skies, and disappears somewhere between one harbour and the next.

Days measured in wind and waves, nights under infinite stars, mornings waking up to a new horizon.

Somewhere along the way, you lose yourself a little, only to find your way back changed, a little stronger, and somehow more yourself than before.

Sailing has a way of making the world feel both immense and beautifully simple.

Un anno.
Un anno in cui ti ho pensato praticamente ogni giorno, non rispetto alla tua assenza, ma come se fossi ancora qui. Non grandi pensieri filosofici (l’età e i dispiaceri mi hanno tolto l’abilità e soprattutto la voglia di imbarcarmi in pensieri profondi sul perché di avvenimenti assurdi come questo), ma nelle piccole cose di ogni giorno.
Il più delle volte è stato “madonna quanto è bello ‘sto gatto, ora lo mando a Mik”. Che uno dice “ammazza, un’amicizia profonda”. Profondissima. A base di gatti, rispetto, la presenza quando c’era bisogno. Che vuoi di più?
In questo anno ho fatto un sacco di cose per le quali mi avresti presa per il culo (non che fosse necessario un motivo per prendermi per il culo, in fondo era il tuo modo di dirmi che se ci perdevi tempo era perché ne valeva la pena, penso. Cioè spero). Poi ne ho fatte altre per le quali mi avresti dato dell’idiota. Ma sono sicura che saresti stato contento per me e “fiero” in qualche modo per la decisione di venire a vivere qui a Bruxelles. Appena sono arrivata e ho capito che una delle prime cose che dovevo fare era comprare una bicicletta, mi sono incazzata tantissimo. Come se tu fossi l’unica persona al mondo capace di darmi dei consigli su quale bicicletta prendere. E quindi non ho chiesto niente a nessuno e ho scelto da sola (come risultato ne ho presa una che mi piace molto ma dopo 10 gg che l’avevo mi hanno rubato IL MOTORE. In garage. Come on! Sei tu che mi fai dispetti, ammettilo).
Un anno fa non sono riuscita a dire niente, a scrivere niente a commentare nemmeno l’assurdità del momento. Non è cambiato molto, sono ancora incazzata come una biscia ed emozionalmente paralizzata rispetto a questo fatto. Ma volevo dirti che, come forse è ovvio, si possono sostituire le cose ma mai le persone. E quel buco sarà lì per sempre. Invecchieremo e tu no. E mentre noi piangeremo ogni ruga di più per questo, penso che da qualche parte, tu starai ridendo alle nostre spalle pronto con uno dei tuoi infiniti stickers di Telegram (con i quali comunicavi quasi più che a parole). Probabilmente quello che dice “Bitch I’m fabulous”. 💔💔💔 by @sooshee
