Helping you holistically nourish your body, heal your heart, & live with intention. ✨
Nutritional Therapy Practitioner | Certified IEMT Practitioner
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Two years ago, if you had told me I’d be studying to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I wouldn’t have believed you.

One month after getting engaged, I reached a point where I knew something had to change with my health.

I was told everything looked “normal.”

But my symptoms told a different story.

Deep down, I knew my body was trying to tell me something. Looking back, my intuition was right.

I just didn’t have the knowledge to understand what it was saying.

So I stopped searching for quick fixes and started searching for answers.

I wish I knew then what I know now. It wouldn’t have made the journey easy, but it would have made it far less confusing.

My hope is that by sharing what I’m learning, I can help someone else feel seen, find answers sooner, and begin their own healing journey.

Welcome to Soothing Soul 🤍

Pay for good food now, or pay the doctor later. Your choice.

I asked my farmer Bev about the cost of healthy food, and his answer: you’re going to pay either way.

Life is expensive right now, and that’s real. But being sick is even more costly, and there’s so much we can do to prevent it, starting with what’s on our plate.

We’ve been conditioned to think food should be cheap, because ultra-processed food is cheap. That’s because it’s not even food!

You’d never want the cheapest doctor or the cheapest car, so why would food be any different?

It’s a choice about what matters to you. Where can you upgrade, and where can you cut back? Maybe a subscription you don’t use, or skipping one nail appointment. Do what you can with what you have.

What’s one thing you’d upgrade first? Tell me below 👇 by @soothingsoul.co

If you’re busy, overwhelmed, and don’t know where to start with eating healthy, start with breakfast 👇

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be simple, whole foods that set up your whole day. A protein-forward breakfast keeps your blood sugar steady, so you get real energy instead of a 10am crash, you stay full until lunch, and the cravings and constant snacking calm down.

Here’s my plate and why each piece is there:

🥚 Scrambled eggs: complete protein plus healthy fats. Protein and fat digest slowly, keep you full, and help you build and keep muscle.

🥩 Ground beef: an extra protein boost plus healthy fats, iron, B12 and zinc. Getting more protein in the morning is linked to fewer cravings later in the day. (Not a beef person? Ground turkey or chicken sausage work great too.)

🥔 Roasted potatoes: carbs aren’t the enemy! They fuel your brain and your workouts, and potatoes bring potassium. Paired with protein and fat, they give steady energy instead of a spike and crash.

🥝 Golden kiwi: about 3x the vitamin C of an orange, plus fiber. Eat it with the skin on! Golden kiwi skin is thin and smooth, and it adds even more fiber, which slows digestion and helps keep blood sugar steady.

🍒 Tart cherry juice: rich in antioxidants. A small glass with a protein-heavy meal won’t send your blood sugar on a ride.

The simple formula when you don’t know where to start:
protein + healthy fat + a fruit or veg + a whole-food carb. That’s it. 💪

Save this for tomorrow morning, and comment what you eat for breakfast 👇 by @soothingsoul.co

This is my kind of medicine. 🌊☀️

Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your health is get outside, slow down, and reconnect with nature.

🌊 Ocean air: The sound of the waves and fresh coastal air can help promote relaxation and calm your nervous system.

☀️ Sunlight: Supports vitamin D production, helps regulate your circadian rhythm, and can improve your mood and sleep.

🏖️ Bare feet in the sand: Grounding helps you connect with the Earth, let go of stress, slow down, and feel more relaxed.

💦 Saltwater: Contains minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium. Swimming also supports circulation, movement, and relaxation.

🤍 The art of doing nothing: Gives your mind a break from constant stimulation and creates space to rest, reflect, and recharge.

We’ve become so accustomed to constantly doing, producing, and staying busy that we forget how important simply being is.

Not everything that supports your health comes in a supplement bottle.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as sunshine, saltwater, and slowing down. 🌿

When did we stop questioning what we’ve been told is normal?

We’ve been conditioned to accept so many things without ever stopping to ask WHY.

Working ourselves into exhaustion. Relying on caffeine to function. Living in constant stress. Eating foods without questioning their ingredients. Ignoring symptoms because everyone else seems to experience them too.

We’ve built a society where being busy is celebrated, convenience is prioritized, and feeling unwell has become so common that we barely question it.

But who decided this was how we were supposed to live?

Just because something is widely accepted doesn’t mean it’s what’s best for our bodies, our minds, or our overall well-being.

I’m not saying everything we’ve been taught is wrong. I’m saying we should be willing to question it.

Get curious. Read the ingredients. Listen to your body. Ask WHY. Do your own research. Make intentional choices instead of simply following what everyone else is doing.

Because common doesn’t always mean normal, and normal doesn’t always mean healthy. 🌿

What’s something you’ve started questioning that you once thought was normal?

Do you actually know what’s in the products you’re bringing into your home? 👀

From the food we eat to the products we put on our skin and the fabrics we sleep in, we’re exposed to ingredients and materials we may never think twice about.

And just because something is marketed as “natural,” “clean,” or “healthy” doesn’t mean it is.

That’s why I put together this simple guide to help you spot ingredients worth a second look in your food, beauty products, cleaning supplies, and clothing, along with tools to help you make more informed choices.

I know reading labels can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what to look for. But the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Start questioning, start learning, and make one intentional swap at a time.

Because the choices we make every day matter. 🤍

I went through my mom’s pantry and bathroom, and you wouldn’t believe what we found! 👀

Wanting to live a cleaner, healthier lifestyle can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know where to start or what to get rid of.

That’s exactly how my mom felt. She had accumulated so much over the years and didn’t know what to do with it all or where to begin.

But once we started, she realized it was so much easier than she thought, especially with someone helping her understand what to keep, what to toss, and why.

Think about how many things we hold onto that we haven’t touched in years, no longer need, or contain ingredients we’d rather avoid.

Decluttering alone can help create a calmer space and a clearer mind. And when you make healthier swaps along the way, even better! 🌿

You don’t have to overhaul your entire home overnight. Start small, toss what no longer serves you, and make more intentional choices moving forward.

Just because you don’t feel the consequence today doesn’t mean your choices aren’t affecting you.

One meal won’t make or break your health, but the choices you repeat every day add up.

What you eat.
How you sleep.
How you move.
How you manage stress.
What you’re exposed to.

It all matters.

And when it comes to food, I think one of the most powerful things you can do is simply become more curious.

Read the label.
Ask where your food came from.
Choose whole foods more often.
Know your farmer when you can.

You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to start paying attention.

Save this as a reminder that the small choices matter. 🤍

Do you ever ask yourself: where does my food actually come from?

I met with my farmer, Bev, at my local farmers market. He’s the owner of EcoFriendly Foods and has spent more than 25 years connecting people with locally raised food, so I wanted to ask him what consumers should know about the food they’re buying.

We often assume that what we see on a grocery store label tells us the whole story. But what if it doesn’t?

As consumers, we deserve to know where our food comes from, how it was raised, and what we’re actually putting into our bodies.

One of the best ways to do that? Shake the hand of the person who feeds you. Head to your local farmers market, ask questions, and find a farmer you trust.

Because the quality of your food can play a major role in your health, and knowing where it comes from is a powerful place to start.

Where do you get most of your food? Tell me below 👇

If being “healthy” feels overwhelming, stop trying to do everything at once.

Start with the foundations. One of my favorites? Protein at every meal.

It helps keep you full and satisfied, supports muscle and healthy hormone production, and can help support steadier energy.

Before the supplements, trends and health hacks, look at your plate and ask:

Where’s my protein? 🍳🥩

Save this as your reminder to keep it simple.

One thing I loved about traveling through Europe was noticing how differently they approach food.

There were a few things that really stood out to me that I think we could bring back home with us 🇮🇹✨

Three simple shifts that made me rethink not just what we eat, but how we eat.

And yes, I’m yelling because I’m competing with the stream behind me 😂

Eating whole foods…or in this case, the whole bird 🐓

A whole chicken is one of my favorite simple meals. It’s easy to make, flavorful, gives you a mix of light and dark meat with different nutrients, and leaves you with plenty of leftovers.

And when the meat is gone, the bones don’t have to go to waste. Save them to make homemade broth and get even more out of one bird.

A simple way to meal prep for the week ahead while making the most of your food. 🤍
