#closetcoreterrazzo again. Love this dress pattern, it ticks all my boxes for feeling like me, only a bit more special, and as comfortable as if I was wearing a nightie! In a lovely papery cotton from @tessutifabrics of course. I used scraps of my @merrepenarts dilly bag print for a wee bag to go with me to #melbournefrocktails by @soozmade

I had a sneaky September #craftcamp at @create_retreats in Warburton and it was VERY NICE. The mosses and ferns were delightful and the sunny then stormy weather was spectacular to behold off the balcony. Good food, great company, led by organiser @clementinesews, @fibresmith, @jmpinry, Sue, Bron and @magster_in_melb. Oh, and I made a few things too! The Claudia bag, Eve trousers, Scout dress and zip front jacket. by @soozmade

Day 2 at craft camp produced the tie neck blouse from a Japanese pattern book in a lovely poplin from @tessutifabrics . I substantially shortened and squared off the hem (swipe through for original length). I also got half way through the #ninotjacket - pics upon completion tomorrow! taken in Sewjourn Retreat by @soozmade

Can’t say enough good stuff about the @merchantandmills workwear book. I’ve made the blazer twice and the pants once since getting the book a month ago. Unisex patterns are oversized but with a small amount of tweaking these all came together beautifully. The first blazer (scroll through) in bronze twill from @theclothshopivanhoe is out of my usual colour palette but I love the vintage boyfriend vibe. For my second go I used a heavy weight twill wool suiting from @tessutifabrics - I wanted warmth and durability and this totally delivered! I pinched a cm out of each side from shoulder to hem on the medium and it’s the exact oversized but not too droopy fit I wanted. I used the same fabric for the pants to give me a delightful suit. For the pants I started with a size small and added a cm to the upper side seams for a really good straight fit, omitting the drawstring. I’ll be making these again. by @soozmade

Funnel neck top in luscious double faced wool jersey from @tessutifabrics in navy/charcoal. It’s that time of year where I struggle to stay warm and all I can think about sewing and knitting are more woollens. by @soozmade

Things I’ve made but forgotten to post over the last 6 or so months.
1. The Monday sweater in @blackisleyarns - Exactly what I intended. 110% success.
2. High and wide jeans in wool/cotton drill from @tessutifabrics - serviceable but nothing to write home about in terms of pattern but LOVE this fabric!
3. Tello Jacket by @paulinealice_patterns in the same drill from @tessutifabrics - second time making this pattern and it’s a winner again.
4. Westley tee in merino jersey- the knot feature is a little less interesting to look at than I expected (did I do it the wrong way 🤔) but a great elevation to make a tee something I can wear to the office.
5. Based on floral dreams from ottobre but with a collar and elasticised cuffs, another wool work top. Serviceable maybe a bit dull.
6. Morris blazer in houndstooth stretch woven wool left over from a dress I made for my trip to Japan. This pattern is such a winner, looks like a blazer, feels like a cardigan, economical on the fabric.
7. Another riff off the Morris Blazer with different lapels and hem shape and front closures. I made matching pants to give me a suit, all sewn out of an interesting textured woven cotton fabric I got in Japan with a high degree of mechanical stretch. Shows creases a bit which I don’t love about it.
8. Brigitte tee in lurex jersey - both pattern and fabric from @tessutifabrics Sparkly enough for a party fit but nothing crazy enough to get away with regular day wear. Love this one!
9. Vogue Issey Miyake overcoat in delightful wool coating from @theclothshopivanhoe I slimmed down size small and it’s still very roomy and cozy. Many hearts for this iconic designer!
10. Tessuti’s free gathered skirt pattern twice - in papery poplin and spotty organza. I made the organza as an overskirt for the black one to wear to a party but I’ve also gotten good mileage out of the plain black with tights and boots in the office.
11. Blazer from the new @merchantandmills workwear book in a lovely heavy but drapey gabardine in a mix of fibres. I got the whole lining out of left overs from the coat. Great unisex patter with a relaxed fit. by @soozmade
