Working on ideas for new contemporary art this week and making a small painting just to test the idea before I go big. I made a bunch of collage papers and cut shapes, then paste them down on an old repurposed painting and painted the background. It’s fun imagining how this will look as a bigger painting and love getting up early to watch the sun come up and make art

My @fodder.school #JulyFodderSchool5 projects (so far)!

Instead of working on canvases, I decided to repurpose a couple of leftover photo mats for the two artworks. For the #FodderDex I used chipboard paired with coloured transparent film to mimic the notion of a tinted window.

It’s always satisfying to give leftover materials a new life. 😊 Thank you, @soozrossiter , for the wonderful lessons and inspiration!

Just a “few” samples of student work from Fodder School- there were literally thousands of talented, kind students and they all put their own personal touch on the projects. I really enjoyed putting the workshops together for July and it was epic to see everyone’s work and how they support each other in their creative space. You can still sign up and you’ll have lifetime access to all the Fodder School 5 workshops. The link is on my home page

New work in my studio this morning, It’s about 70% finished.
An abstract painting with colors from the seventies that started with layers of paint and random marks. Then, I added mid-century circles leaving some space so you can still the underpainting which has a bunch of geometric art and patterns I made with some of my designs @stencilgirl.products
I’m imaging when it’s finished there will be less black, more yellows, browns and overall harmony

Handmade paper collage on wood blocks for ArtOMat this morning. I’ve been working on these little chicken art mixed media paintings all week. The cool part is that they’ll be sent to art vending machines all over the country where anyone can get some awesome small art for a song :) I love their bewildered expressions 🤭
