Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan 🐠

This was our first day in Osaka, and (once we figured out the train system) had the best time. A few little tips from our experience below:
1. I couldn’t get tickets online, but we had zero issues lining up on the day. Just make sure you’re semi flexible with your timeframe as they give you a set time entry and it may vary depending on demand.
2. If you don’t get in straight away, don’t fret! It is right next to a shopping centre and a huge Ferris wheel. Go for a ride, grab something to eat (we opted for ice cream and it was delish!).
3. It is also right next to Legoland so for planning purposes, this could absolutely fill your day up! We didn’t do this (I thought we were too theme park heavy already) but I would definitely consider it if I was back to planning.
4. While the massive, multi story tank is very cool, after a while you are just looking at the same thing over and over 🫣 the rest of the aquarium was very interesting though and the kiddos loved everything overall!
5. Want to get a good shot of the shark? Keep going down a few levels! We found that HEAPS of people stopped on the first or second level of the big tank. Push through another couple of levels and it should thin out.
6. If you want to get good photos/views of exhibits, plan to walk slowly and allow other people to have their time. The crowds definitely move through and everyone is very respectful of giving everyone a turn (at least, we found it to be that way).

They were in fact, not exaggerating 🫣

The walk is HARD and I am no stranger to a lengthy walk. I thought surely I would be fine. Do not underestimate the warnings 😅 the walk is long and quite steep, and there are only a handful of chairs along the way.

Also, thank you again to the lovely lady who pointed me in the direction of the towels as I was dying on the chair unable to appreciate the views or the monkeys. You were my saviour 😂😂 although I then proceeded to walk around with a see through white shirt (thank you to my husband for lying about that when I asked him 🤦🏽‍♀️). Worth it for the cool down.

The Harry Potter Studio Tour in Tokyo was one of our favourite stops during our trip, for so many reasons. It was incredible to see all the different artefacts from the movies, learn about how they make the props and film the movies, and to see everything up close.

These are some of the fun, interactive parts of the tour (which are all free to participate in as part of your entry). Personally, finding out my patronus was my favourite part, but the kids loved being part of the movie.

A few quick tips:
1. Arrive early - the gift shop is so cool, and we spent ages looking through there while we were waiting for our timeslot.
2. Check if there is a passport challenge! The boys each grabbed a book before we went through and at the end were able to get a special imprint (not an actual stamp but super cool).
3. Pick an early timeslot. You can take as long as you want to walk through the tour (and you can easily spend 4 hours here), so picking an early timeslot means you don’t feel rushed.
4. Book through Klook! It is so easy, books in your currency, and you can use the code SOPHIEWARRAN for a slight discount 🙃

Nothing better than watching your kids dreams come true ✨

We won a comp from @mova_anz to go in the @essendonfc shed and watch the players warm up, and then Nate was lucky enough to also be chosen as a junior mascot for the game! I don’t know if we will ever be able to top him running out with the team (although, Nate Caddy speaking to him for 2 seconds before he went under the banner is all he’s talked about 😂) ❤️🖤

Don’t know about you, but we were at Luna Park Sydney 🎡

This was an impromptu add on to a weekend away, but so much fun! We love Luna Park because it’s can be a one cost activity with no time limit. Of course, there’s extra things you can pay for (like the carnival games) but there’s so much to do without that.

Random tip - if you don’t leave it last minute and book before your trip, the prices are even cheaper. Wish we had’ve planned ahead 😂

What 2 nights in Melbourne look like for us 💛

This trip was mostly about the footy (unfortunately both our teams lost) but we managed to sneak in a visit to AC/DC lane and Fitzroy Gardens. I wasn’t 100% convinced the kids would be interested, but they loved our stroll this morning 🙌
