I was officially diagnosed with endometriosis through a laproscopic surgery.🎗️

I’ve had years of extreme pain, constant bloating, irregular periods with the worst cramping, but believed that was normal. It wasn’t until a year ago a genuine problem became evident, and a couple months ago I could no longer ignore the pain.

On November, I went to the hospital after not being able to move during the night and bawling from the pain. I was in the ER for 12+ hours to which all of my concerns were passed off as “just cramps”. Nothing I said was taken seriously.

During first semester, I missed over a month of school total because my flare ups kept persisting and I was rendered incapacitated. It wasn’t “just cramps”.

After pushing, I was referred to the most amazing gynecologist and MIGS team and felt like I was truly being listened to. They immediately thought the same thing I did which was “it’s endometriosis”. My surgery confirmed it.

This is so important to me because most women get medically gaslit and have to suffer in silence. Endo impacts 1-10 women yet takes an average of 4-12 years to diagnose. I’m so grateful I ended up having doctors and a surgery team who rallied for me. Thank you to all of my friends for your never ending support and understanding. Whilst endometriosis is a chronic illness that can’t be cured, y’all have made everyday so much better, and I will keep pushing for myself and others to be heard.🎗️🤍 by @sophmurphy30

A senior year accomplishment post because college is coming up soon :)

I was inducted into the National Honor Society after getting 60+ hours in the summer! I was also an officer for the National English Honor Society

For the scholastic writing awards I won 3 honorable mentions and 3 gold keys for original writings. I was also nominated for an American voices award, which was 1 of 5 works selected out of 1,200

I had art chosen to go into a gallery!

Some of the pieces I submitted into a y-case art competition which were on display downtown

I was awarded best attorney during mock trial ⚖️

The school district got pictures of me with some of my scholastic awards for the news letter

An art piece of mine advanced to the finalist round and was shown in a gallery (along with some of my classmates talented work)

Our plaintiff team won 3 trials and our defense team won their trial in order to advance to the final round of districts!

Our mock trial team made it to districts for the first time in our schools history where we got second place! With a final record of 4-1

I won a national scholastic silver medal for my original screenplay, only 2% of all entries are honored this way

I was accepted into 13 amazing universities and was awarded a merit scholarship with each one! I’m very fortunate to have had my final college decision be so difficult

After years of not knowing what was causing my pain, on April 17th I was finally diagnosed through laparoscopic surgery with endometriosis 🎗️ this is a huge self accomplishment because this diagnosis only happened because of how much I had to advocate that my issues were very much real.

I was chosen to speak a second year in a row at the scholastic award ceremony and share a monologue from my screenplay! 🔑🪽

I committed to an absolutely amazing all women’s college, ranked 4th in the nation, I’m so excited to meet my fellow MHC classmates 💙 can’t wait to attend a school full of such a rich history of strong women
