Pioneering Energetic Literacy with those courageous enough to practice🛸
POSTS STORIES REELS
We’ve been sold a version of ambition that requires us to remain perpetually dissatisfied with our lives. As though making peace with where we are would somehow compromise everything we’re capable of becoming. And so we keep pushing, often right past the very things we once hoped to have. This month inside The Practice, we’re questioning the belief that acceptance is settling, and whether the energy we’ve spent resisting where we are might be better used to discover what’s already possible from here. 🦅 by @sorce.io
🌎 Introducing The Practice, Fall 2026 Cohort! For decades, leadership development has centered on strategy, performance, professional networks, and the pursuit of growth. All valuable, but only part of the picture. What’s been missing is an understanding of the human capacity that influence our ability to lead well in the first place. That’s the work of Energetic Literacy. This fall, we’ve brought together leaders from Mars, Accenture, Workday, Spring Health, and USC Marshall School of Business, alongside founders, educators, researchers, and innovators across healthcare, technology, environmental conservation, finance, and community development. Together, they’re exploring a dimension of leadership that has historically received far less attention: the relationship between our physiological state, our emotions, how we think, and the capacity we have available to meet the demands of our lives and work. The potential for impact extends far beyond the leaders in this cohort, and we’re incredibly proud to introduce the leaders who have chosen to be part of it. To each of you, thank you for bringing your experience, curiosity, and willingness to challenge what leadership can look like. We’re honored to be in this work with you, and even more excited about what you’ll bring into the world because of it. Our Winter Cohort begins in January 2027. What does it mean to be a man when so many of the identities we inherited no longer quite fit? For @sorce.io Practice Member Brendan McKendry, that question has become deeply personal. @brendan_mckendry Through his own work, Brendan began looking more closely at the relationship between masculinity, identity and the ways men learn to measure their worth. The roles we take on. The pressure to provide. The instinct to hold it together. The parts of ourselves we learn to rely on, and the parts we lose access to along the way. The Practice gave Brendan a place to explore those questions through his own experience, rather than as an intellectual exercise. To better understand his energy, recognize the patterns he had built around performance and identity, and develop a different relationship with what strength can actually look like. This is a big part of why The Practice exists - to give high performers greater access to themselves so they can lead, live and contribute from a place that is actually their own. For the past year and a half, @heylombardi has been practicing with us. Alie is a senior communications and public affairs leader whose career has placed her inside high-stakes environments, navigating complexity, competing demands and moments where clear thinking matters. When she first came to The Practice, she describes herself as having been a “go, go, go, go, go machine.” In this conversation, she speaks candidly about what that eventually looked like in her body: extreme burnout, inflammation, panic attacks, and the realization that the way she had learned to perform was no longer sustainable. What we appreciate about Alie’s story is that it isn’t about becoming less ambitious or stepping away from a demanding life. It is about developing a different relationship with the energy required to live one. A year and a half later, she describes the shift as “night and day.” At The Practice, we are not interested in helping people tolerate more. We are interested in helping leaders understand the human system behind how they lead, decide, create, relate and recover, and develop the Energetic Literacy to work with that system more intelligently. Thank you, Alie, for trusting us with this part of your story. Our Fall Cohort of The Practice begins October 14th. For leaders who have been looking for a different way to hold the weight of the work, we would be honored to practice with you. Apply to practice with us: www.sorce.io/practice by @sorce.io
We are proud to recognize the Summer 2026 Cohort graduates who have been accepted into The Practice Community.🎉 They lead across global healthcare and life sciences, human and organizational development, behavioral health, architecture, brand and culture, and entrepreneurship, bringing distinct disciplines and perspectives into a shared inquiry around how leadership itself must evolve. What brings them into the same room is a shared commitment to a more regenerative standard of leadership, grounded in energetic literacy. At SORCE, we use regenerative deliberately. It describes leadership that accounts not only for what we produce, but for the condition of the human systems producing it. Leadership that understands capacity as something to steward and recognizes physiology, relationship, and recovery, as consequential to performance. And that asks more sophisticated questions about what sustainable excellence actually requires. Completing the Summer Cohort marks a significant milestone in their study and practice of regenerative leadership. Their acceptance into The Practice reflects a commitment to take that work further into their teams, communities, and beyond. This is a group to watch. It takes courage to question the leadership norms that have long been rewarded, and greater courage to practice something different. Congratulations to our Summer graduates, and welcome to The Practice. We are honored to continue the work alongside you. The next cohort of The Practice begins this fall, applications are now open. Space is limited. Practice with us: www.sorce.io/practice by @sorce.io
We believe data should help deepen self-awareness, not replace it. This is the philosophy behind our latest SORCE app update. HRV gives us a scientifically validated window into the nervous system. It can reveal patterns our conscious mind may not yet recognize and offer an objective signal of how the body is adapting to stress, recovery, sleep, exertion and life. But it is still a signal. Not the whole story. As our ability to quantify ourselves has expanded, an interesting risk has emerged: that we begin outsourcing our relationship with ourselves to the measurement. A number on a screen can tell you something meaningful about your physiology. It cannot tell you whether the conversation you are avoiding is consuming your attention. Whether you feel deeply connected to the work in front of you. Whether your body feels capable while your mind is depleted. Whether you are energized by the people around you, or quietly withdrawing from them. So we redesigned the SORCE morning practice to hold both. You can measure your HRV — an objective physiological signal — and then turn inward to notice your own felt experience across physical, mental, emotional, social and purpose energy. Neither is meant to override the other. In fact, some of the most interesting information may live in the space between them. Your physiology may suggest capacity while your felt experience says otherwise. You may feel depleted while your nervous system appears well-resourced. Rather than asking which one is “right,” we are interested in what becomes possible when you become curious about both. This is Energetic Literacy™: having more information about yourself and developing a more nuanced capacity to interpret it. Technology can help us see what we might otherwise miss. Somatic awareness can help us sense what technology cannot know. The future of human performance requires both. www.sorce.io/practice by @sorce.io
Boundaries aren’t walls. They’re the conditions that shape what becomes possible. Every ecosystem has them. A riverbank gives direction to the water. The edge of a forest creates a different kind of life. Even our nervous system relies on boundaries to know when it’s safe to open and when it needs to protect. Leadership isn’t different. The healthiest teams we’ve experienced weren’t built on unlimited access, constant availability, or endless accommodation. They were built on clear conditions that allowed trust to deepen, energy to be protected, and people to know where they stood. When we think of boundaries as rejection, we miss their deeper purpose. Boundaries don’t exist to keep people out. They exist to create the environment where people, and the work itself, can flourish. sorce.io/practice by @sorce.io
For more than seven years, this work has been built together. This year, we’re making it official. We’re beyond excited to welcome Lisa May @livefulle as the third Co-Founder of SORCE, joining @iamjessicacorbin and @kristibritto as we continue building what has always been a shared vision. To mark this moment, we’re launching a new segment on The Practice Podcast: Founder’s Circle. In this first conversation, the three of us pull back the curtain on what we’ve been seeing inside organizations, leadership teams, and our own journey as founders. Different companies. Different titles. Different challenges. But the underlying pattern is remarkably consistent. People aren’t tired because they can’t perform. They’re tired because they’ve become exceptionally good at succeeding inside systems that no longer feel sustainable. Many have achieved what they set out to achieve. They’ve built the teams, hit the numbers, earned the promotions, and carried the responsibility. Yet there’s a growing realization that there has to be a better way to lead than pushing harder and sacrificing more. We talk about why we’re seeing an unprecedented appetite for a different kind of leadership, one rooted in energetic alignment, integrity, and literacy. Not as abstract ideals, but as practical capabilities that allow people and organizations to perform at a high level without constantly operating from depletion. The encouraging part? We’re not just talking about it. We’re watching it happen. This week, we’re incredibly grateful to welcome our Summer 2026 Cohort of The Practice, an extraordinary group of executives, founders, physicians, creatives, coaches, and leaders who have chosen to invest in leading differently. To each of you: thank you for trusting us and one another. We don’t take that lightly, and we’re humbled to begin this next chapter together. Listen to the full episode in bio. Introducing The Practice, Summer 2026 Cohort!🌎 (with a more leaders joining us in the coming days...) Every cohort develops its own signature. This one is defined by breadth of perspective and depth of responsibility. Inside this group are global executives, founders, scientists, philosophers, producers, transformation leaders, HR executives, marketers, behavioral health innovators, humanitarian practitioners, and Executive Coaches. They come from organizations spanning hospitality, consumer goods, biotechnology, healthcare, architecture, entertainment, venture, and global enterprise. On paper, their careers look remarkably different. Underneath, they are asking the same question: How do I sustain extraordinary leadership without sacrificing myself in the process? The Practice exists because leadership capacity is no longer determined by intelligence alone. It’s shaped by nervous system regulation, physiological awareness, and the ability to recognize patterns before they become problems. Over the next month, this group won’t be collecting another leadership framework. They’ll be developing Energetic Literacy, the capacity to understand, manage, and renew human energy through whole-brained leadership. By bringing both sides of the brain online, we restore connection between physiology, emotion, and cognition, expanding our capacity to perceive clearly, respond intentionally, and lead with greater presence. www.sorce.io/practice by @sorce.io
We’re honored to welcome Dr. Brennan Jacoby, Founder of Philosophy at Work, as a Featured Voice for this season of The Practice. Brennan is one of the foremost voices bringing philosophy into the practice of leadership. He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Philosophy, with doctoral research centered on trust, interpersonal relationships, and corporate character. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, his work has helped leaders at organizations including Deloitte, Sony Music, Capital One, Nike, and The Wellcome Trust cultivate clearer thinking, stronger judgment, and the conditions for trust to flourish. At SORCE, we often say that the quality of our leadership is shaped by the quality of our awareness. Brennan’s work offers a compelling lens into the cognitive disciplines that support wise leadership, while Energetic Literacy invites us to examine the patterns beneath our thinking that shape how we perceive, relate, and decide. Together, they point toward a more integrated understanding of what it means to lead well. This is the kind of inquiry that defines The Practice. The Practice is designed for leaders who sense that the current models of leadership have reached their limits. It is a place to develop the discernment, awareness, and relational capacity needed to lead living systems with greater wisdom, vitality, and care, alongside a community equally committed to the practice. Thank you, Brennan, for bringing your scholarship, generosity, and curiosity to our community. We’re honored to feature your voice this season. There are leaders who achieve extraordinary things. Some of them eventually begin asking different questions. Questions about purpose, fulfillment, and what it means to build a life that is as healthy as it is successful. Today we’re excited to feature Lisa Maxwell, Vice President of B2B Marketing at Mastercard and a valued member of The Practice, in our latest Practice Member Spotlight podcast episode. Lisa has built an incredible career helping fintechs and global partners bring bold ideas to life. Her story is one of curiosity, courage, and growth. She shares what it looked like to examine the cost of sustained high performance and make intentional changes that brought her work and life into greater alignment. In this conversation, we explore: • The energetic debt that can quietly accumulate behind high performance • How fulfillment becomes an essential part of sustainable leadership • Learning to listen to yourself and lead with greater clarity • Pursuing excellence while caring for your own well-being Lisa embodies something we deeply value at SORCE: leadership is a lifelong practice of growth, self-awareness, and service. We’re grateful to have Lisa as part of The Practice community through the IRG and honored to share her story. Listen to the episode: link in bio by @sorce.io
Last week, our co-founders, @kristibritto and @iamjessicacorbin returned from leading a four-day retreat at @canyonranch in Lenox, Massachusetts. Space to feel, recover, and reconnect. We were honored to facilitate alongside the extraordinary @mtaheripour whose wisdom on negotiation, relationships, and human behavior continues to challenge conventional thinking about transformation. A special thank you to @drjenwagner - Chief Health & Performance Officer at Canyon Ranch, and @jenn_wilson_adventures - Director of Health & Performance, for bringing such depth, care, and expertise to the experience. Their commitment to helping leaders understand the connection between wellbeing and performance is reshaping what self-care can look like. And to Laura Chevalier, thank you for thoughtfully curating an experience that felt both expansive and deeply human. The intentionality behind every detail did not go unnoticed. What Canyon Ranch continues to do so well is create environments where transformation doesn’t need to be forced. The conditions are simply there. The conversations deepen. Perspectives shift. People remember parts of themselves that the pace of life often asks them to set aside. Grateful to everyone who joined us, and to the Canyon Ranch team for creating a space where this work can unfold. by @sorce.io
