Not my usual post, but I’m FURIOUS that the hazardous ☢️ waste that has been illegally fly-tipped into the car park and access to my kid’s disability school still hasn’t been collected by @lpoolcitycouncil and no response or information has been provided as to when this waste will be removed. Disabled kids already have access needs without putting more obstacles in our way! Shout out to any waste company that can volunteer to help us make it a safe environment to get our disabled kids to school in please! #Wasteremoval #flytipping taken in Wavertree, Liverpool. by @sorrellck

A quick peak into Week One of our Artist Co-residency at Mawddach in rural North West Wales. We had an incredible time exploring the forests, rivers, mossy rocks, coastline, cliffs and sea. It was a daily breathtaking hike along different views often finished with a cake and coffee before retiring back to the studio as the light was fading and we made artwork inspired by the day’s findings. Such an incredible first week marvelling at fhe flora and fauna of the area as well as getting to speak a little Welsh to the locals (I’m fluent and was brought up in Wales, but it’s been a while since I spoke it!) our days were filled with outdoors and our afternoons with log fires, 🔥 and making art. Myself and @dan_waine are currently in the process of making lanterns for the @lightupleigh parade. Here we are making willow frames mimicking the buildings and skyline of Leigh. These will later be papered and designed with a school workshop group. Kicking off Jan 2026 Freddie & I shall be doing our first co-artist residency for 2 weeks at the beautiful Mawddach on the West Wales coast near Barmouth. We’re really excited to immerse ourselves in our practice and hopefully make some wonderful core memories together.

Through this thought-provoking exhibition, Kerrison delves into the complexities of human nature and the intrinsic value of play.

As a multidisciplinary artist specializing in handmade textile craftsmanship and animation, Kerrison presents a captivating exploration of nostalgia, playfulness, and the passage of time. Drawing from personal experiences and societal observations, Kerrison’s works serve as a poignant reflection on the intersection of childhood innocence and adult responsibilities.

I had to do a test mixed media by of animation. Some stop motion it’s play doh shot frame by frame. Then moved into Lumafusion to edit. Then moved into Procreate Dreams to do some digital flip book drawing on top. What do you think? I like the naivety of it as I always spend days/weeks/months making something. I was proud to have won 1st prize at the prestigious Hand & Lock 2020 in their Textile Art Open category and I am SUPER EXCITED to be a Mentor for this years 2022 prize!!
