Each year in Akre, fires illuminate the mountains as Nowruz is celebrated. Land of the Kurdish drifts through this night of movement and gathering, where the physical landscape becomes inseparable from those who inhabit it.

After three years, I’m stoked to announce that our feature-length documentary ‚Aiming High‘ is finally being premiered at the @zurichfilmfestival . It was one hell of a ride, with numerous days spent on the top of mountains, navigating glaciers, being exposed to 120km/h winds and hoping our gear will survive long enough to capture the shots.

Thankful to the whole crew involved for their relentless effort, especially everyone at @filmgerberei , @alunmeyerhans and @flaviogerber for their vision, @bucher.susanne for making everything possible, @humbi_entress & @jan_mettler_dop for bringing me on board, AC’s Linus Rieser @inblurryfocus @nathaliekamberdop @blackstar__369 @thegr8adi @timon_flu , @octamas_rental for the camera package and @unserefarben for the colors🫶

GRIT - Running across Iceland

In the summer of 2022, three amateur trail runners set out to run across Iceland, covering 340 kilometres from the north to the south of the country in eight days.

Strangers at the outset, GRIT follows the three women as they band together, interweaving individual battles and motivations with one common goal.

Back in the spring of 2024 I had the opportunity to tag along on @ueberyou & @thehightimescool epic tour through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia & Turkey, and discover the local D.I.Y. Punk Rock scenes along roads less travelled.

We were incredibly fortunate to meet, hang out and party with some remarkable individuals along the way, but to also hear about the struggles and hardships people endure due to the rise in autocracy and authoritarianism.

«Restless in the East» is a 20-minute love letter to the worldwide D.I.Y. Scene and the many ways music provides unity in desperate times.

Film Premiere: 27. Sept 2025 at Dynamo Saal, Zürich (DM for Infos)
