my most treasured piece in my collection: my grandmother’s victorian slide bracelet. 14k gold and gorgeous little gemstones.

when she passed away, my aunt shared that i always commented on this bracelet when i was a little girl. i had a connection with it then, and i have an even deeper connection with it now.

a few of the gemstones are missing, and i’m too afraid to properly wear it because of the clasp. i think she needs a trip to the jeweler but i adore her as she is.

i’ll never be a minimalist product person but i cannot be thisssss maximalist. there are soooo many other places i’d rather spend my money than on a million products i don’t use. jewelry! clothing! travel! investments!

practicing contentment with my fine jewelry collection is admittedly difficult when there are endless gorgeous pieces that catch my eye and tons of jewelrygram creators that seem to have sooo much.

but what do they say? comparison is the thief of joy? yeah. that.

reminding myself that each of these pieces have meaning behind them! and that although my collection feels small to me, what a privilege it is to be able to afford any of it at all.

allowing myself the occasional impulse story purchase because my adhd demands it, but big thanks to @okay______fine’s digital jewelry box template on notion for helping me visualize what i have, what i lust after in the short term, what i want long term, and keep track of the value of my collection.

conscious consumerism. delayed gratification. slow and steady. sortakindacurated.

this pendant is about to become 80% of my personality! prepare to get sick of me!

this has been on my wishlist for a while, and i finally took the plunge. i love the colors @didirosejewelry chose. she had no way of knowing, but they feel so “me.”

i’ve bought a bunch of new pieces in the past few months, and i think this may be my favorite. now time to slow down, enjoy the collection i have, and keep virtually lusting after everything i see in my algorithm.
