Very lucky to have a close circle of women around me that I can not only call my girls, but also talented collaborators and peers. Would not have half the confidence to do pretty much anything without this village. ❤️

Glad to be given the chance to give @catherinelagaaia her flowers 💐

She is magnetic on screen and carries herself with so much charm, grace and humility. A perfect Moana.

Like many of us, we grew up watching her dad @jaylagaaia on our screens; it’s fantastic to see his family legacy further expand and bolster with the achievements of his kids. 💙

Full of gratitude for everyone who showed up and showed out last night for a very special preview of Disney’s live-action Moana in Sydney.

Despite the weather, 1000+ fans and guests were able to preview the film (out July 8), as well as be treated to a magical performance by @te_vaka and the @signaturechoir - plus some special guests in the always gorgeous @jaedynrandell and Dwayne Johnson himself 💪🏽

I had the opportunity to host the event, and it was a wonderful meeting of cultures, pride and humour. Thank you to the @disneyaunz family for having me back — there were so many moving parts to this one, but the end result was so worth it. 💙

Thank you @directorkail @tiana_nonosina @kay.faam for bringing your warmth and fun spirit to Sydney; it was also a pleasure to meet and put some love on @catherinelagaaia — she has a huge future ahead of her.

And to @therock - a consummate pro, seeing him interact with his fans was watching a masterclass in friendliness and connection. Yet, still such a kind and generous person to share brief, but meaningful moments with on stage and off. Thank you for your words of encouragement, DJ - one of one. You take your grandfather’s mana with you.

I love the way our women, our men and our babies are represented in this film; different shades, sizes and ages, on such a massive platform. Go watch it, enjoy the story’s reimagining and yes, enjoy Maui’s wiggggg.
