Livin’ the Fly Life

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What a trip. Still did not land the pike I was after. So many 32-36 inch pike landed, and the 12wt more than stood its ground. Always fun to get one in the 40”, but still chasing the elusive 45”+ pike on the fly. 1 sighting of a pike in that range, but disappeared. Next stop, Musky on the fly. 🔨 by @sotaflyguy

Tying flies, testing flies, and catching fish. So cool to watch these fish be in the river.

Redundant post? Potentially. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I could sit here and write an essay about the crazy stories behind all of these fish, but I won’t bore you all with the details. Just such a great journey start to finish. Tying flies, knowing and learning patterns, colors, stripping techniques etc. a learning trip from start to finish and we nailed it. Max and I figured out how to catch nice fish, celebrate with a fist bump that doesn’t take 20 seconds to see, and we had a blast. Enjoy the first video listening to the drag peel, our little voice quips, and hear the relief as the big one ended up in the net. I didn’t start this page to be an influencer, I simply started it to share my experiences, and to document it all by @sotaflyguy

What a day.

Learned a lot, enjoyed it all. As soon as I noticed she was dropping eggs, I promptly put her back. Sadly, the pictures and videos will never do this fish justice.
