Tina is feeling much better and it’s all thanks to our chicken community❤️ we were at our wits end trying to heal her back into eating and moving like a normal hen. Our friends at @betterflock quickly sent us a care package of a fast acting, all natural drinking water duo to bring our flock back to standard 🙌 Whether you’re combating illness or boosting egg production during downturns, count on Avaplex® and Nutriplex-W™ as your go-to for fast-acting results you can trust 🤝

Just look at Tina in the last slide! 🥹 She used to sit alone in the corner pecking at walls & gurgling, now she’s pecking away at her feed and clucking like normal as seen in the last video 🤩

The sanctuary’s goal is to be 100% self sustainable which is why we started farming our own food.

Every year the garden expands just like our knowledge Living in symbiosis and no spray is the goal 🙌🏽 truly clean organic food from rich living soil 🪱

So far we have successfully grown in the garden:
🎃 4 varieties of Pumpkins
🥬 Cabbage, chard & lettuce
🧅 Onions
🧄 Garlic
🫘 Beans
🌱 Beets
🌱 green onions
🌱 micro greens
🥦 Broccoli
🫑 Bell Peppers
🌶️ Different chilies
🌿 3 types of Herbs
🍓 strawberries
🫛 Peas
🌱4 varieties of squash
🌾 Leeks
🥒 cucumbers & zucchini
🍅 4 varieties of tomatoes
🌽 corn
🍈 cantaloupe
🍉 watermelon
🥔 potato’s
🍠 sweet potato’s
🍆 Eggplants
🍒 Cherries
🍎 3 varieties of apples
🍐 Pears
🍑 Peaches
🌳 Plums

The garden not only feeds us but most importantly the animals! We are still going strong with all our pumpkins and squash.
Happy to mention we also donated a lot to our community and friends 🧺🫶🏽

This spring we will be expanding the garden by adding more beds.

What would you like to see us grow? or tell us what you plan on growing this year!

We’re doing a seed giveaway for the gardens of 2024- check out potato post for more info!

A walk through the 147 acre food forest will consist of finding edible flowers and plants along the way. Can you identify these native plants that grow here in the Sierra Nevadas of California? Save this post if you’re curious because by tomorrow afternoon we will update and identify the plants here 👉 (____________)

While only 1/2 of SOTE Sanctuary grew up part time on a small family farm, the other half didn’t. Despite both coming from a long lineage of farmers, neither had much experience.

His family farmed to survive the Great Depression 🇵🇱 🇺🇸 and her family farmed and raised livestock for centuries in Mexico 🇲🇽 and Peru 🇵🇪
We both left the corporate world to reignite what is most important in our lives: the ability to grow clean food.

Now, we strive to revive the knowledge of what our predecessors had left but improving it with what we have learned in modern age. Slowly growing our roots again and living in symbiosis with the land.
Regenerative sustainability with certain permaculture practices is where we have found ourselves. Combining our love for cultivating food forest and keeping animals safe and happy.

Planet over profit 🌎 🤝 🌍
