Today marks a year from the opening of my little shop, so I think it is time for a long overdue introduction.
Hi, I am Martha, the founder of @soughtandfoundcollection. This picture was taken last October during a trip to Italy with my sister. Traveling is the best way to spend time and money in my opinion.
I am originally from Brazil, but have been in the US for 30 years! I can’t believe it.
Creativity has always been part of my life. From a young age I knew I wanted to be an architect. My mom is an interior designer, although not a formally trained one and for a long time owned a store that sold beautiful objects for the home. My sister is a wonderful graphic designer. Dad is a doctor, but a man that truly appreciates the good things in life, traveling, eating and drinking well and being surrounded by beauty.
I am married to an architect, an amazing designer, avid reader and knowledgeable about things I can barely grasp sometimes. Together we have two girls ages 20 and 17.
Since I started the shop I have met so may amazing people and made so many connections. I love finding beautiful objects to share with all of you. My favorites to find are studio ceramic pieces, art books and unusual decorative pieces. I love curating my collections, which tend to be somewhat eclectic and hopefully spark something in all of you.
To shop, check my posts for available items or click on the available highlight. Also check my how to shop highlight.
I hope to keep bringing you beautiful pieces and joyful posts!

This classic Dutch mill landscape set under a dramatic moonlit and stormy sky is likely a Mid Century painting by a “starving artist”. Painted in the late 19th century impressionistic style of the Hague School, this was possibly painted as a mass production piece to be sold at furniture stores in the 1960s. These paintings are now very sought after by interior designers and I think it would be a lovely addition over a credenza in a foyer or dining room. Placed on a shelf in a kitchen, mixed with some wood boards and some pottery this piece would make a great statement. The frame itself is worth the purchase with its premium gilt wood swept edge and featuring an inner black velvet liner. Some damage to the frame as shown in the images.
