As Artificial Intelligence successfully simulates intelligence, language, and creativity, it is forcing us to ask a profound question: what exactly are we? The 21st century is putting anthropology back on the table. If a machine can mimic our output, our definition of humanity must go much deeper. The strangest thing in the universe isn't a black hole or even AI, it's the fact that there is a conscious person behind your eyes actually experiencing the world. You don't just process wavelengths; you see a sunset.

Science can explain how the brain processes information, but it cannot explain why that processing is accompanied by actual, subjective experience. Philosopher David Chalmers calls this the "hard problem of consciousness." Why aren't our biological mechanics just happening in the dark? Why do we experience the vivid reality of pain, beauty, fear, love, and color? From a purely physicalist or scientistic vantage point, it is impossible to answer one profound question: why does matter have an "inside"?

Burning Man prides itself on radical inclusion and the acceptance of all spiritualities—except one. Carl Teichrib shares his firsthand experience observing the spiritual landscape at the festival, noting that while witchcraft, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam are fully accepted, Christianity is uniquely singled out for serious mockery. What does this reveal about the true nature of the festival's spirituality?

Why are astrology, witchcraft, and psychedelics making a massive comeback in the modern, scientifically advanced West? In this episode, Joshua Farris explains why the secularization story failed and why modern disenchantment only created a hungry market for re-enchantment. We explore why supposedly material creatures remain so stubbornly interested in an unseen world, and how this persistent hunger points directly to the reality of the human soul.

Is Burning Man just an arts festival, or is it a new religion? Carl Teichrib explains the internal debate within the Burn community and shares a revealing quote from its founder, Larry Harvey. In a world that is increasingly chasing experiences over objective truth, Burning Man represents a powerful shift toward "spiritual movements" rooted entirely in feelings.

It is easy to get swept up in the endless debates about technology, ethics, and politics. But every single one of these conversations hinges on a much deeper, theological foundation. If we do not first understand that men and women are created in the image of God, we will not be able to accurately navigate the ethical questions of our day. The most important question sitting underneath our culture's modern debates is fundamentally an anthropological one. by @soulsciencemin

What will be the most valuable resource of the next century? It isn't oil, and it isn't data. Tech leaders in Silicon Valley are pouring resources into understanding and controlling human consciousness. The powers and implications of consciousness itself might just be the ultimate frontier.

Are you nothing more than the firing neurons inside your head? In an age where neuroscience has seemingly mapped every function of the human mind, many have concluded that the brain is the whole story of who we are. But is that actually true?

For decades, we were sold a story that science and materialism had successfully explained the universe and pushed religion to the margins. But a cultural shift is happening. From Silicon Valley tech elites to the everyday person, there is a massive, renewed obsession with consciousness and the unseen realm. We are collectively realizing that materialism failed to answer our deepest questions.

What if Christianity’s greatest gift to civilization wasn’t just morality, hospitals, or universities? The modern world has lost the categories to understand its own existence because we have forgotten Christianity's most fundamental contribution: the biblical understanding of the human person. It is time to recover the true depth of human identity and what it means to be made in the image of God.

Is there a connection between the modern philosophy of panpsychism and Emanuel Swedenborg's concept of universal correspondences? Swedenborg believed that while God is distinct, there are deep correspondences between our inner thoughts and experiences that reach directly into the spiritual and heavenly planes, even connecting to God Himself. Could this "New Thought" concept be linked to how we view consciousness today?

When someone shares an end of life vision or spiritual experience, what is your first reaction? Often, Christians are quick to dismiss these encounters as mere hallucinations or deception. But as Professor Stephen Miller points out, the truly biblical response is not to wave them away, but to listen carefully and do the hard work of testing the spirits.
