The launch of @tika.nz marks a significant moment for survivors of sexual harm in Aotearoa.

Working alongside survivors every day through our SHAPRA service, we see first hand how difficult it can be to navigate reporting processes, particularly when existing pathways may not feel safe, accessible, or right for an individual's circumstances. No single pathway will be right for everyone which is why having meaningful choices matters.

We're grateful to see a new survivor-centred reporting option become available in Aotearoa, one that offers another way for people to explore their options and be heard. It also means our SHAPRA team can talk survivors through an additional pathway when helping them navigate what comes next.

More choice for survivors is always a step forward in the right direction.

We're launching our first-ever fundraiser.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help sustain and strengthen our work, especially that of our SHAPRA service. In the last three years, our SHAPRA has supported people connected to more 359 individual cases which is a reflection of both the ongoing need and the undying dedication of our small but mighty team.

We care deeply about the people who make up the vast Aotearoa music community, from Cape Reinga to Bluff to our expat music whānau. This community is our collective home and place of belonging to look after and take care of across every generation.

If you're in a position to donate to our cause, we'd be so grateful for your support. If not, sharing our campaign helps more than you know. Link is in our bio.

We're doing this mahi together as a community, and it's the greatest privilege of our lives to be in the wing with you all.

We want to take a moment to thank the music whānau who heard the call and reached out to our specialists to submit feedback on our Community Restorative Framework this year.

We deeply appreciate every person who made time for a kōrero with Rachel and Mel, and the contributions made towards this forthcoming resource. The insight gained will help shape a well-rounded resource for use across the many pockets of our community in future.

As they say, it takes all people.

More updates on our Community Restorative Framework to come in the new year.

If you or someone you know is dealing with any of the issues touched on in the scope of the Community Restorative Framework, you are welcome to access free specialist support and guidance from our SHAPRA service - set up a time by emailing shapra@soundcheckaotearoa.co.nz by @soundcheckaotearoa
