Rest in Peace, Marvin Diaz: 11/18/1966 - 11/29/2025.

I love you Dad. And I miss you. So, so much.

It still doesn’t feel real. I wish you were still here.

I still wake up, still walk across the hall to your room, and still expect to find you in your bed. I keep looking around, thinking I’m going to suddenly spot you, sitting in the kitchen, or standing in the living room, cup of coffee in your hand, talking to Nino, or Uncle John, or watching one of your favorite movies or shows on the TV, or your favorite YouTube videos on your phone.

I definitely was not ready for this day to come. I never was. I really thought and felt that you would be around forever. Even when you got sick, when you became severely ill and bedridden at home, putting you out of work. I kept saying that you were going to get better. I kept asking you, begging you, to hold on, to stay strong, and to get better. There was simply still too much left for us to see and do and experience together.

God had other plans. But at least, you’re with the angels now, and you are no longer suffering. You are now getting to share your smile and infectious one-of-a-kind laughter with Him and His angels and disciples, and with grandma and grandpa, and all of our loved ones, who you are now reunited with.

20 pictures are nowhere near enough to properly reflect and represent the life you lived, the life we got to share together, or the life you did your best to enjoy to the fullest, every single day.

Thank you for giving me life. Thank you for being my father. Thank you for choosing me, and for choosing to do all you can for me. Thank you for everything that you taught me. Thank you for all of the laughter, the smiles, the jokes, the advice, the car rides, the shoulders to cry on, the hugs, the moments, the experiences, the memories … the love. The unconditional and never-ending love that you always gave me, from Day One, until your last breath. You were the best father that anyone can ask for.

I wish we had more time. I wish we could’ve shared one more dance together. I wish … you were still here.

Thank you for everything, Dad. I will never forget any of it.

I love you. ❤️ by @soupermatic

Today is my father’s birthday.

We should be celebrating. Eating a nice warm dinner, joking and laughing around the table, and sharing and creating more fun and precious memories together.

But instead, he’s bedridden with sickness and suffering from the cold and the rain, among other things.

But I’m thankful and blessed that he is simply still alive, and that we made it to his birthday this year. To be honest, there was a very recent moment where I questioned whether or not we would make it to this day, with him.

I’m not deluding myself from the current reality of the situation; that he’s getting up there in age, and his body is breaking down and betraying him, after years of sacrifice and hard work to try and give me a better life.

But I would love to remember the happier times, when he was fit and healthy, and the breadwinner who was doing all he can to provide for me, his one and only son.

A father’s love is powerful. A father’s love is eternal. A father’s love is everlasting, and will always come through when it matters most.

It’s a love without end … Amen.

Happy Birthday Dad. Thank you for everything. Please stay strong and hold on so we can do this again next year, and celebrate another milestone of your life together.

There is still too much for us to do together, and to see together, and to accomplish together.

I’m not ready yet to be without you … and honestly, I don’t think I ever will be.

I am always going to be your son, and one way or another, I will always, ALWAYS … need you.

I love you, Dad. Always have, always will.

Happy Birthday. ❤️ by @soupermatic

I honestly can't ask for a better way to spend my Friday night.

Dinner with my dad and uncles, priceless memories.

Time is something you can never get back, so I choose to make the most of the time I've got and enjoy the moments I share with the people I care the utmost about.

Like the sticker says, do what makes you happy.

What makes me happy?

Investing in family.

LE SSERAFIM TOUR
“PUREFLOW”
San Jose, CA

Still can’t believe I finally got to see one of my favorite kpop girl groups live, and it was one of the absolute BEST shows I have ever been to!

My folder from this night has over 220 photos and videos, so narrowing it down to just 20 for an IG post was definitely not easy.

But in the end I just went with the ones that made me smile the most and simply felt right to feature.

They are some of my favorite shots after all, but at the same time, pics and vids really do not do these women justice. It’s a whole different story, a truly unreal and ethereal experience, seeing them live and in living color, right in front of you.

On top of that, getting to sing and dance out loud to our favorite songs, and cheer and roar, all to show support to these girls, was an amazing and humbling experience; a moment in time that I will always be thankful and grateful for.

I also can’t deny that my bias for Chaewon comes through very strongly (a big majority of my pics are of her … 😅 ) but I genuinely did try to get some good shots of the other queens too, I promise 🤣

Big shoutout to my broski Max for sharing this experience with me and adding another chapter to our friendship and brotherhood!

To the ladies of Le Sserafim: thank you.

Chaewon, Yunjin, Sakura, Kazuha, Eunchae …

About last night …

I still can’t believe that I am lucky enough to be able to do some cool things, like attending an early screening of the new Resident Evil movie from Zach Cregger, the director of “Weapons” and “Barbarian”!

This film is incredible. From the very opening all the way through to the final shot before the credits, it felt like I was actually in the video games, specifically the first three, which all take place during the night(s) of the initial outbreak in Raccoon City.

The way the movie was shot, the over-the-shoulder angles, the first-person POV shots, the enclosed interiors of some tighter set pieces, that sinking feeling of claustrophobia and the fear of someone or something jumping out at you from any and every corner or nook or crevice; Austin Abrams deserves all the flowers because he did an amazing job conveying what any of us real humans would do and how we would feel and react in these kinds of situations.

As a big fan of the video games and someone who grew up witnessing their journey from gaming consoles to the big screen, the highest praise I can give this movie is the following statement:

It truly feels like we finally have a live-action Resident Evil movie done right.

Zach, Austin, and the entire cast and crew that made this movie and put it all together should be very proud of what they accomplished.

Thank you Henry for getting us the tickets even though you’re not even in the area right now, and Max for driving and sharing in this experience with me!

I can’t wait for all of you here and the rest of the world to see this movie when it officially releases worldwide on Friday, and to experience this exhilarating thrill ride that brings a new and exciting chapter to the storied franchise known as “Resident Evil”! by @soupermatic

This is 35.

Thankful and blessed to still be alive.

One day at a time, we fight to survive.

So the day may come, when we begin to thrive.

〰️〰️〰️

Thank you so much to the friends and family who made me feel a little spoiled, and a lot of love, this past weekend.

As well as all of you who are still here, still riding and rocking with me, on this long and winding road.

Bit by bit, whether small or large, you’re restoring the light in my life that at one point I fully felt and believed had gone out.

It’s thanks to you that I still believe in a life worth living.

Thank you. by @soupermatic

EDC Las Vegas 2026 - The 30th Anniversary

Take me back to when I finally felt at home again. Back to when I finally felt free again. When my heart finally started feeling like it was healing. When I was reminded of what it truly meant to be, and feel, alive.

My 5th edc overall, but easily number 1 with a bullet. Simply put, it was the most magical and unforgettable edc weekend and experience of my life. And the main reason for that? The people.

To my group, SushiDC, with the most meowsome totem ever, which reflects the most freaking awesome people ever: thank you so much. For accepting me into your group and family, and welcoming me with such warmth and kindness. And for shining and sharing all of your collective light on me.

I was an absolute stranger to all but two of you on Thursday night. Monday afternoon, as I sat down at my gate to wait for my flight back home, the emotions set in, and I was a bawling mess. I didn’t want to leave. I was already missing y’all that much. We became that close, and shared such an emotional experience and fostering of friendship, over the course of 3.5 to 4 days under the electric sky.

There is now an eternal bond in my heart of love, friendship, and gratitude for each and every single one of you, because you gave me an entire lifetime’s worth of all those things in just a matter of days. And I can only hope that I was able to properly reciprocate at least some of it back.

And to everyone else who I got to see and reunite with, or meet for the first time, and share such an amazing space of passion, love, energy, warmth, kindness, and vibes … thank you as well.

The experience may be over, but the memories will forever remain with us and between us.

Thank you for pulling me out of my darkness.

Thank you for guiding me back home with your beacons of light.

Thank you for picking up my broken pieces, and beginning the process of healing my heart.

Thank you for showing me what it means to be alive.

Thank you. by @soupermatic

Last post of the year. Last message. Last reflection.

This year started off so well and so strongly. I came out the gates hot and swinging. I hit the ground running. It felt like I was batting 1.000, and that I could only keep on going up.

The biggest and most devastating curveball of my life would be thrown at me in the second half, and especially in the fourth quarter.

I lost my father.

The biggest and most painful loss of the year, and of my life overall.

But sometimes, I still feel like he is here with me. I feel his presence on the wind. I feel his spirit all around me. I feel his watchful eyes and supportive fervor, as I still navigate these brand new and uncharted waters of my life.

He passed down many things to me, among them his love for music, sports, exploration, and culture.

“Wherever God guides you, wherever the winds take you, trust that it’s where you are meant to go, and where you are meant to be. And I will be there with you. Always.”

My father spoke these words to me when I was in college. He took the time to console me after I had suffered a massive mental breakdown, and was feeling an existential mid-life crisis. I thought I fully understood them at the time. But now, more than ever, do they truly resonate.

I look back at 2025, and I see and feel the waxing and waning of each moon. For every bit of growth, there was pain. Every step forward came with a step or two back. Every smile came with some struggle behind it. And for every loss … there was a lesson to be learned.

So as I look ahead to 2026, I seek simply to continue living and growing into the man that my father always knew I would be. I leave behind all the things that weighed me down. I leave behind the fear of my own accountability, fear of my own potential, and fear of my own success. I leave behind the guilt of letting go.

But I will never leave behind the memories of my father. He will continue to guide me along the path that the winds choose to take me.

Thank you 2025.

You were the hardest lesson I ever had to learn.

Thank you Dad. I love you. And I carry you with me, as I move forward, one step, and one day at a time. ❤️ by @soupermatic
