Taking a dip in the holy rivers of India have been a part of our tradition since the beginning of time. Hindu mythologies and ancient scriptures reference this as a practice of purifying the human body and soul.
.
.
Situated on the banks of river Hoogly, Dakshineswar kali temple is not just another shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali or Maa Bhabatarini but a holy ground that brings adoration, purity and peace to everyone who ever visit it. Many devotees come from all over the country to offer their prayers to the goddess and to attain grace by taking a dip in the sacred river.
.
.
The temple was built in the year 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, a prominent persona and philanthropist of Bengal, after she got a vision of the goddess in her dreams. The main temple was built in Navaratna style where the idol of Maa Bhavatarini is installed. Row of 12 identical shiva temples reside on other end by the river bank.
.
.
The temple is not just famous for its spiritual significance but for the social and religious events that took place in its rich history as well as for its association with Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, the chief priest.

#ReclaimYourTravel
I wouldn't say this is our best travel picture in terms of photography. But this picture is very close to my heart for the reason that it has changed my world. On our last trip backpacking across South East Asia, it was at this spot admiring the serenity and lost amongst nature, we realised that we want to do this forever. We wanted to take our future kids along with us to show them how beautiful the world is and help preserve it. 2020 has been both a boon and a curse. We welcomed our son into the world during the raging pandemic where travel became the last priority. I now can't wait to explore the world with him and create numerous memories as a family. We are ready to reclaim our travel.

Fitness for me is not just physical, it's mental too and yoga helps me soothe my body and soul equally.
This picture was taken on a holiday in Seychelles where I tried to amalgamate two things I love the most: The ocean and yoga. The result was extremely satisfying and exceptionally calming.

Just when we think we know love, someone little comes and reminds us just how big it really is. Just a month and you've already filled ours lives with joy and smile that we never felt before. Your cooing, grunting, your heart-melting smiles as we cuddle you, your little hiccups and those momentary stares, gripping our fingers with those tiny palms makes us realise the depth of Love all over again. May this innocence and smile remain on you forever as you grow. With love dear Tashvik! - Mom and Pops.
