When dusk settles on the South Coast, thoughtful design really comes into its own.

From the expansive glazing capturing the warm interior glow to the timber batten screening and integrated step lighting, every detail here was planned around how our clients actually live and entertain.

Our clients wanted to include multiple gathering zones so utilizing the outdoor space to create a natural entertaining spot that works just as well for crisp coastal evenings as it does for summer nights on the lawn. It’s all part of our in house design approach, tailored specifically to the block and the lifestyle.

Statement lighting does so much more than just brighten a room. When you’re working with high raked ceilings, clustering woven pendants at staggered heights brings warmth, texture, and a sense of scale right into the space.

It’s the thoughtful design details like this that make a custom home feel inviting and balanced from day one.

A calm start to the day begins with thoughtful design.

Between the plantation shutters filtering the morning light, the custom double vanity with classic shaker details, and that freestanding bath, this ensuite was designed to feel like an everyday retreat. It’s all in the balance of clean lines, textured tiling, and practical storage that keeps the space feeling open and uncluttered.

Handover day at Encounter Bay 🏡

Set high on the hill, this home captures sweeping views across the islands of Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor.

Our clients chose a warm, natural palette of stone and timber, creating a home that feels relaxed, welcoming and connected to its surroundings, while allowing those incredible views to take centre stage.

We’re proud to have designed and built this beautiful home and can’t wait for our clients to enjoy everything it has to offer.

Another project delivered, and another home to call their own.

Every custom build needs those moments of drama, the focal points that anchor a room and give it genuine character.

At Encounter Bay, the main living area balances warmth and texture through this striking brick fireplace and vertical timber feature wall. It’s a space designed for easy coastal living through summer, while keeping things cosy when the winter weather rolls across the Fleurieu Peninsula.

When we design and build bespoke homes, we’re always looking at how materials, contrast, and craftsmanship come together to design something that you love and can see yourself living in for years to come.

We’re so grateful to our wonderful clients, John and Sally, for sharing their building experience with us after the recent handover of their Middleton home.

Their beachside home features classic Beachcomber-style architecture and some fun elements of colour throughout.

It was an absolute privilege bringing this project to life, and we’re honoured to hear the kind words they shared about the journey.

First impressions matter, but framing a view like this comes down to thoughtful design from day one.

From the moment you walk down the hallway, your eye is drawn straight past the polished concrete and custom timber French doors out to the rolling hills of Back Valley. The recessed timber ceiling lining defines the dining space, while the expansive glass lets the landscape do the talking.

When a home is designed specifically for its block, every hallway and transition connects you straight back to the view.

If you caught our post last week, you’ll know why we’re back for another look at this Middleton home.

Taking inspiration from the classic Beachcomber style, this two storey custom build brings together relaxed coastal charm and bold architectural detail. From the custom orange structural posts carried from the timber deck right through to the kitchen island, to the light soaked stair void, every space is designed for how life actually happens here for our clients.

It’s bright, grounded, and made for unwinding with the whole family (four-legged friends very much included).

Out on site across the Fleurieu, and there’s plenty of momentum happening across a few of our sites in Pt Elliot, Chiton, and Hayborough.

Every stage of a custom build has its own energy. From timber framing and structural steel going up on freshly poured slabs, through to feature stonework and second storey cladding taking shape, it’s great seeing these in house designs come to life for our clients.

Our tradies have been making the most of the clear spring weather, keeping the details sharp and the quality right where it needs to be for a South Coast build.

When you decide to build a custom home, finding the right team isn’t just about floor plans; it’s about trust and clear communication from day one.

Hearing this feedback from one of our wonderful client’s after handing over her new home in Middleton is what we strive for on every project.

For Sally, having that balance of custom architectural design paired with local building expertise meant the entire journey felt smooth and enjoyable. Because our in house design team works directly alongside our construction crew, we’re able to plan ahead, anticipate challenges before they arise, and guide our clients through each stage with total clarity.

A custom build should be an exciting milestone, not a stressful one. We’re proud to have brought our client’s vision to life and made the process something she genuinely enjoyed looking back on.

If you’re thinking about building a bespoke coastal home on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Southern Suburbs, or Adelaide Hills, we’d love to chat through your ideas.
