Somewhere along the ride, you have to stop for a photo.

The journey into Rio Minero camp is on horseback. The horses, the people riding beside you and mountain views like these all become part of the hunting story—well before you settle into camp.

Who would you want alongside you for this ride?

There’s something about seeing the lights on when you get back.

Flowers along the path, warm timber and somewhere to settle in after a day in the field. Take the boots off, get comfortable and talk through the hunt.

With Southern Stag, your estancia stay becomes part of the trip you’ll remember, too.

You can almost hear this photo.

Head lifted, antlers catching the sunlight, a red stag calling against the dark hillside. It’s a moment worth pausing for, whether you’re behind binoculars or a camera.

If you’ve heard a stag roar in the field, you’ll know what this brings back.

There’s a lot of ground to cover without taking a step.

Binoculars up, settled into the hillside, looking carefully across the country with your guide. Before deciding where to go next, there’s time to look again.

These quieter stretches belong in the hunting stories, too.

Who else enjoys the glassing as much as the stalk?

Paisa Expeditions × Southern Stag 🎣🦌

If you didn’t already know, Southern Stag is Paisa’s sister company. This March and April, we’re bringing them together.

Spend a few days on the river chasing big Patagonia trout, then head into the backcountry for the red stag roar with the Lagos family. For those who want something more elevated than a regular lodge stay, we’ll build your once-in-a-lifetime cast and blast, the one you didn’t know existed.

Limited spots. You coming?

Her name is Hurricane. And on day three of her hunt at Vilcunco, one of our partner estancias, she lived right up to it.

Patience, grit, and a stalk that paid off with a stag most hunters wait a lifetime for.

This is true blue, open range estancia hunting. Wild country, real hunts, and it’s waiting for you at Southern Stag.

Open roar spots available. Message us for details. by @southern.stag

If you’re up for the test, our gaucho-led backcountry red stag hunting experience may be for you. Limited slots available for the coming season. Link in bio. by @southern.stag

Patagonia with no fences, no guarantees, and no easy miles — just tough country, wild free-range stag, and a hunt that pushed us every day. Long hours glassing, steep climbs, roaring stags in the mountains, and weather that changed by the hour making it one of the most challenging and rewarding hunts I’ve been on. Grateful to have shared this experience with @southern.stag in one of the wildest and most picturesque places on earth. 🦌🏔️🔥
