I understand everyone loves a deal and wants to save money — but can we normalize professional wedding photography costing what it costs?

There have been SO many posts lately about photographers and videographers canceling, ghosting, or disappearing altogether. And while getting an amazing deal sounds great, sometimes constantly searching for the cheapest option is part of the problem.

Professional photographers have insurance, equipment, backups, software, taxes, years of experience, editing time, business expenses, and honestly… everything has gotten more expensive.

Can we normalize inflation, pricing going up, and understanding that professionals have to charge enough to actually run a sustainable business and still be there for their clients? 😭

Your wedding photos are one of the only things you’ll have left after the day is over. Cheap isn’t always a deal.

Keira said senior photos, I heard tiny magazine spread. ✨

We started in golden hour and stayed out until it was past dark, walking all over one of my favorite spots in Michigan. We went down by the river, through the grass, found little corners along the way, and spent a good while just creating.

Keira came to me with a creative vision for her senior photos, and I’m so glad I got to bring it to life. Sessions like this are always so fun because they feel personal instead of just checking off the usual senior photo list.

She plans to become a firefighter after graduation too, which is very cool and very her.

Jasmine + Austin brought me all the way from Michigan to photograph their intimate wedding high in the Malibu mountains, and this day was unreal.

Five dogs, the sweetest officiant, insane views, and a sports car I’m saving for part two. 😉

Also, destination couples: look into Airbnb venues. Seriously such a good move for an intimate wedding like this.

And do I even need to explain why you should add my boyfriend’s drone photography to your wedding package? 😂 Half of these images are his and the aerial views are INSANE.

We flew out to Malibu, California for Austin + Jasmine’s wedding day, and seeing this place from above was unreal.

He’s currently in surgery today, and my anxiety is sky high not being able to call my usual person. So while I wait, I figured I’d share a little piece of California and some of my favorite drone moments from their day. 🤍

Seth + Kasey 🌸🤍

I’ve had the chance to photograph for Michael’s Entertainment before, so getting to photograph the wedding of the man behind it all felt a little extra special. 🥹

Seth + Kasey got married right in their own backyard, the home they bought together, where they’ve built their life, are raising their babies, and just welcomed their newest little one. And now it’s also the place they became husband + wife. 🤍

Color everywhere, their favorite people, the sweetest details and a backyard completely transformed for them. Such a freaking beautiful day celebrating the life these two have built together. 🌸

With Aspen in her wedding dress, we spent the evening exploring the California coast together as the sun set over the ocean. Golden light, the sound of the waves, and two people completely in their own little world.

Moments like this always remind me why I love photographing couples so much. Simple, romantic, and a little adventurous. California really showed off for this one. 🌅

✨🌞 𝒢𝑜𝓁𝒹𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝓊𝓃𝓇𝒾𝓈𝑒 𝒾𝓃 𝒫𝓊𝑒𝓇𝓉𝑜 𝑅𝒾𝒸𝑜 🌞✨

I told him all week that if I couldn’t find a couple to model for me,
𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓹 𝓲𝓷… 😭😂✨

After a full week in Puerto Rico, realizing I didn’t know enough Spanish to ask anyone, I finally accepted that finding a couple was nearly impossible 😫🌺

So on our last morning, we woke up before the world and wandered down to the little lagoon behind our hostel. The whole sky was pouring warm gold over the water. 🌞🌴💛

I set my camera on a palm tree, connected it to my phone, hid my phone between shots, and let us fall into whatever the sunrise gave us.

And honestly…
