so grateful for all of the ppl who helped accompany my few days in Cali. here’s a short, little and semi-chronological media slide that encapsulates some of the adventure(s) i had while there to spend time with family and to have a last hurrah!

it was such a beautiful time to come back and see everything everywhere. really happy i got to see my mom, sister and madrina especially.

though i don’t think this will be our last time together- i’m so grateful to have had a few days with everyone- especially being able to celebrate my 22nd birthday with everyone. thank you, everyone and i love you all!

p.s. i think i got a little bit of color… and thank you, cali for having me for my 22nd! loved the good food and amazing ppl along with it. by @soybilinguishmichael

oh grandma, no one could truly prepare me for the grief stricken existence i’d feel after losing a loved one, especially one as important as you.

grandma mami, all of my memories are filled with you. my first ones to my most recent ones. i remember you teaching me about how to make oatmeal with grandpa ray, letting me brush your hair, us playing hide and seek, you teaching me about death, us spending the summer together, you “sweeping” with a wet paper towel, hearing you sing incorrect lyrics to “no me queda más,” and more.

this has been one of the most difficult moments within my life thus far- consistently challenging any hardship i’ve experienced prior to this.

i didn’t realize mourning someone so important to me would feel so… consistent- so exhausting to my entire being.

i miss you more than my words can explain or describe, which says something, ‘cause it’s difficult for me to miss others, but
anyways, grandma, i don’t know why right now was what the universe decided would be my last moments with you, but i will be forever grateful and thankful for each moment i had/have.

the world has an interesting way of making me turn on my heel, but i know that you’re with me forever and always.

i am who i am because of you and through you.

i will tell stories about you for the rest of my life and will consistently imitate how you were for more…

i’m so glad that i was there for your last breaths on this planet, as you were there for my first.

thank you for taking care of me and loving me with all of your heart.
