No dia 24 de outubro, o Ponto Kultural recebe Gabriel Chaile, artista visual argentino radicado em Lisboa, para uma palestra sobre o seu percurso e prática artística.

Através da escultura, da antropologia visual e da arqueologia social, Chaile explora a memória coletiva, os saberes populares e as referências das comunidades pré-colombianas, cruzando heranças culturais com questões contemporâneas como a migração, a subsistência e o espaço social.

Para que funcionen las cosas
A través de eso que llamamos arte
Convirtiendo en un hecho histórico el deseo de creer
¡Fijate! como suceden las cosas alrededor
Mirate! en el contexto
En que confío
Quizás perdí la fe
Ya no soy el mismo
Volverme pequeño para habitar lo grande
Mi corazón no late al ritmo del tuyo
Soy una canción distinta en cada espacio que comparto
Me aferro a esa forma a diario para poder darle fortaleza a mi día
Cuento una y otra vez el ritmo
Para entender que tengo rutina
Y si no hago eso
Que soy
No entiendo si la convicción es táctil
Sostener la mirada
Volverte a encontrar
Olvidarme de todo un poco
Fijar la vista a una horizonte blando
Crear símbolos de barro
Desnudar las huellas en mi cuerpo que imprimió un momento crudo

O Estudio (para o funcionamento das coisas através da arte) é um novo espaço para o encontro, a troca e o funcionamento do conhecimento através da arte. Entender a prática artística como um espaço a partir do qual operar, acionar e acima de tudo como um “espacio de batota”.
Neste segundo encontro apresentaremos Andrei Fernández (Cutral-Có-Argentina, 1983) é curadora, mediadora intercultural e pesquisadora independente, radicada no norte da Argentina. Estudou Artes Plásticas e Antropologia Social e Política, formação que complementou com percursos de aprendizagem territorial em comunicação comunitária, soberania alimentar e design.
Seu interesse central é questionar o que é a arte na e a partir da região onde vive, o que pode ser a arte e o que pode fazer a arte. A partir dessa pergunta, seu trabalho articula arte contemporânea e economia social, promovendo colaborações entre artistas, ativistas e pesquisadores de diferentes territórios.
Realizou residências de pesquisa na Delfina Foundation (Londres, 2023) e na DAAD Galerie (Berlim, 2025), e curou exposições em museus, galerias e espaços independentes da Europa e da América Latina.
É cofundadora da rede de organizações do noroeste argentino Unión Textiles Semillas (UTS) e acompanha desde o início o coletivo de tecelãs Silät e a artista Claudia Alarcón em projetos artísticos e educativos.

Mañana nace un Nuevo espacio em Lisboa!!!!:
O Estudio (para o funcionamento das coisas através da arte), abre amanhã: um novo espaço para o encontro, a troca e o funcionamento do conhecimento através da arte. Entender a prática artística como um espaço a partir do qual operar, acionar e acima de tudo como um “espacio de trampa”.
Neste primeiro encontro apresentaremos e conheceremos a obra do artista brasileiro Traplev (1977) @traplev é artista, SC e doutorando pela Pós-graduação em Artes pela UERJ, no Rio de Janeiro (2023.1) com bolsa sanduíche Capes em Lisboa 2026-1. O artista foi editor geral e cofundador da publicação RECIBO de artes visuais de 2002 a 2015, não qual publicou 18 números e mais de 74 mil exemplares distribuídos gratuitamente pelo Brasil.

"As the fall season kicked off in New York earlier this month," Alex Greenberger writes for ARTnews, "High Line Art curator Cecilia Alemani jokingly provided dealers at Marianne Boesky Gallery with a warning: They might never get the adobe dust from Gabriel Chaile’s sculptures out of the gallery’s nooks and crannies. Chaile, who was standing next to her, began to smile, recognizing that this was likely true."

Opening September 4 | Gabriel Chaile: Esto es América, o qual é o limite?

Working with symbolically charged, organic materials, Chaile creates large-scale sculptures that reinterpret the formal and material language of the indigenous communities in Northeast Argentina. Acting as both anthropologist and storyteller throughout his practice, Chaile investigates what he terms the “genealogy of form”—the notion that forms repeat throughout the history of visual culture, taking on a new significance in each recurring context. Incorporating these forms throughout his work—and alluding to their multitude of referents—Chaile at once memorializes and revitalizes the traditions and practices of his ancestors and his community.

For Esto es América, o qual é o limite? Chaile presents a group of large-scale adobe sculptures—produced on site in New York—accompanied by a series of charcoal drawings on canvas and photographs documenting recent No Kings Day protests the artist observed while attending a residency at Tinworks Art in Bozeman, MT. At the center of the gallery, a large-scale adobe sculpture—its form suggesting that of a giant lizard or bird, captured amidst some sort of transformation—marshals four, anthropomorphic adobe bread oven forms. Together, the five sculptures form an enigmatic procession, march, or perhaps, protest. The surfaces of the sculptures are finished with intricate constellations of black line drawings, all carrying layers of meaning so dense they become nearly impossible to decipher.
