Hi friends! I’m excited to share that I have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to deliver an evidence-based jiu-jitsu program for at-promise youth in the SouthBay.

As part of my doctoral capstone, this FREE research program combines occupational therapy principles + jiu-jitsu to teach social-emotional learning skills that go beyond the mat and into everyday life.

This project is especially meaningful to me because I started training martial arts thanks to a coach that taught for free at my local teen center. Now, I have the opportunity to come full circle by giving back to my community and to the sport that saved my life🥋❤️‍🩹

✨ The program is FREE
✨ The research study is FREE
✨ Even the uniforms are FREE!

Classes begin October 12th, and I only have 5 spots left!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate one year of Tierra Combat Club 🥹 🌵

We ate, trained, played soccer and pickleball, then somehow found room to eat even more 😂 Just an all around day full of good people and good vibes 🤙🏽

Thank you to everyone who donated gear for the homies in CDMX 🇲🇽 It really means a lot to see our people show up for each other like this 🫶🏽

Even with the distance, we’re all connected on the mats. Being able to share jiu jitsu in this way and support each other reminds us why this community matters so much.

Shoutout to @pacuguey for taking the time to gather everything and bring it out there in person. And thank you @kelvinbigchillin for bringing people together and making this happen 🙏🏽
