It has honestly been such a pleasure designing @krystalpaniagua ’s NYFW showroom for ss2027 and working with the lovely girlies @krystalpaniagua @jasbunnie (@spa0288 ), @pauline_fan . Thanks for the trust 🥹 A lil set up bts vid at the end of this carousel!

*first all nighter in a decade - we ended up setting up overnight 10pm to 10:30am 🥵

Krystal Paniagua’s knitwear has always been defined by adaptability and experimentation, inviting wearers to adjust, layer and reinterpret garments in their own way. Flawk carried this sense of freedom into the installation, suspending, stretching and draping pieces throughout the room rather than confining them to conventional retail displays. The open presentation revealed the yarns and interlocking knitted structures up close, allowing each piece to be encountered as both clothing and sculptural form.

Bamboo rails were suspended from the ceiling by strings of wooden beads and weighted with rocks, while garments hung from washing lines that criss-crossed the space. Together, these simple interventions created a playful and tactile setting that encouraged visitors to wander through, look closely and experience the pieces from different angles.

The collaboration grew naturally out of a friendship between Paniagua and Flawk founder Ashley Law that began in London, before Flawk itself existed. Drawn to Paniagua’s work from its earliest days, Law bought one of her first pieces and later visited the designer’s Mexico City studio in 2022. The pair spent time exploring vintage markets together, and over the years Paniagua made several bespoke garments for Law. In many ways, the pop-up felt like a collaboration that had quietly been taking shape in the background ever since.

Grateful to produce Krystal Paniagua’s first independent NYC pop-up during NYFW ~~ three days presenting her SS27 collection to industry, clients, artists, and friends at 46 Hester St in the LES.

For Krystal’s pop-up, we worked together to honor the new collection, intermixing organic shapes and fixtures that allow the space to breathe with ease between the outside and in. Carefully chosen elements like wooden beads and rocks from outside were balanced by thin wires leveled to showcase each piece in its own distinction. Additional to Ashley’s spatial design was Lichen’s generous hand in offering their own bamboo dividers, anchoring the fitting rooms experience with this continued sense of modulation.

We reshaped the space daily depending on what each day needed. From the opening reception to closing day, the space was able to hold each piece at its simplest form, offering every guest a closer look and feel, all essential to Krystal’s works, worn and styled in as many ways as they’re seen.

New York, we’re opening this Friday!

From 11–13 September, our long-time friend and knitwear mumma @krystalpaniagua is popping up at 46 Hester Street in Lower East Side – and we’ve designed the shop!

It’s a project that has been years in the making. Ashley met Krystal in London (before Flawk even existed), later visiting her studio and rummaging through vintage markets with her in Mexico City. Now, we’ve finally had the chance to make something together.

We love Krystal’s shape-shifting clothes, which, in her own words, “explore the boundaries of what a garment can be”. They can be adjusted, draped and reinterpreted around different bodies, so we designed a space with the same sense of freedom.

Expect knitwear suspended, stretched and draped throughout the room; bamboo rails hanging from the ceiling and weighed down with rocks; clothes criss-crossing the space on washing lines; butterfly-inspired displays; and a few pieces from Detritus, our furniture collection designed by our founder Ashley Law and Louis Barrett (@louis.barrett ).
