It’s time to let you know who is rocking the mic for our PRIDE installation of the Urgent Emergent Performance Art Series on June 20! Kevin Kaoz is a native Clevelander and an award winning writer, actor, spoken word artist and educator.

Kevin Kaoz has shared stages with major record label acts such as hip hop duo Dead Prez, MIMS, Layzie Bone, Syleena Johnson (TVOne’s R&B Divas) and Brandy and has ripped mics throughout the U.S. and Canada From early 2010’s to the 2020’s releasing projects such as The Tyler Durden EP (Experience) & The Tyler Durden Mixtape, Entersextions & The End is Beginning. Kaoz also executive produced and co-wrote a full length compilation entitled Kaoz Presents: Real Talk MPLS bringing local, national and young adult artists together to wax poetic around bullying, homophobia, stigma and sexual health in our communities. Kevin Kaoz is currently co-host of the T(ea) with Dj Daddy Rox on KRSM Radio.

It's taken about 24 hours for me to say write this. My heart is broken, again. Fresh. Some of my closest friends know what this man means to me. This has always been my match. My rollercoaster patna. My uppity opposite. Getting the news you no longer are here has put me in a not so good space. We hadn't spoken in the last few years since visiting you in Tampa, cause obstinate folks stand On business. Yea, we were fools for that. I really wished we could have spoken at least one more time. I'm praying for your family and friends in so many places that share this love for you. But my Robert Winters III aka Tugga I'm missing you bro. Life has been busy and weird lately. But I am excited to announce that I will be apart of this wonderful installation at Walker Arts Center Sadie Barnette's New Eagle Creek Saloon. Sashay-Shantay is a night curated by Nicole M. Smith featuring DJ sets by Michel Be , DJ Jamez L Smith a burlesque set by Red Bone and Kaoz engaging the group with safer sex outreach and activating the crowd to Act Up!
