Just A Pretty Picture, right?

That is exactly how Sara Wager @swago refers to her own astrophotography as, simply “pretty pictures”. Shot from her 2 pier, 3 scope remote observatory in her backyard in Olocau Spain, her astrophotography is far more than just “Pretty Pictures”.

Sara is one of Space Chasers featured astrophotographers along with being one of the best in the world. In a world of very similar astrophotography, everyone is shooting the same targets at the end of the day, Sara’s works stands out. Her distinct processing and color palate of blues and greens makes gives her a unique and instantly recognizable style that has defined her work for years.

Retired from the United Kingdom, she has been living the good life with husband Steve outside the small ancient village of Olocau Spain. Though she keeps busy from a mix of deep space astrophotography to full fledged cycler taking on picturesque windy roads of Spain while raising money for great charitable causes.

Director Steven Swancoat & DP Ketak Dhiman traveled to the small village of Olocau outside of Valencia Spain to meet the exquisite astrophotographer. She welcomed the two with open arms, funny comedic timing and a very memorable experience. From displaying her one of a kind backyard remote observatory to exploring the confines of the ancient village Olocau which has been around the 5th centuries BCE. The three even got a special behind the scene’s tour of the City by Major Antonio Ropero Morales.

Sara has proven herself as one of the most memorable characters featured in Space Chasers with her funny sense of humor, no holds bare interactions with director Swancoat and quick witty responses she consistently gets laughs out loud from viewers.

🚀✨ From the backyard!

These stunning images captured by amatuer astrophotographers show just how far passion, space and technology have taken modern astrophotography — and each photo tells a story.

Every shot you see here was taken by a key cast member from the #SpaceChasers documentary. Their journeys resonated deeply with us, and we hope their unique stories will inspire you too.

As one of them put it best,
“You aren’t born knowing how to do astrophotography — it’s something you learn. — It’s a journey of self discovery.”

From first light through a new telescope to capturing your first astro photo, to surprising yourself with your new results.

Astrophotography has the power to transform the way you see the universe — and yourself. 🌌📸

All that and paired up with an amazing new track coming by @astroape gives you one crazy cinematic astro adventure.

MOVING COMING SOON…. Be ready 🔭

Beyond the Scope,

Just a little sliver of BTS shots to come. With a shooting schedule of nearly one year and covering over 7 countries, the production of Space Chasers is a wild story in of itself.

Shot by @ketakdhiman_dp with writer director @swancoatart, as his debut feature doc, the two persevered doing their best with all the unexpected elements of #documentaryfilmmaking to capture to stories, essence & hearts of our featured astrophotographers.

From the depths of South Africa to scoping in #timesquarenewyork, to many more places…. the method was in the madness, & the madness was out of the world 🌍

🔭 Guess where??? 🌎

This shot was taken in the final moments of our first Space Chasers documentary adventure in the #Karoo. Lead by @theastroshake & @astrotanja in #SouthAfrica, they asked director @swancoatart to climb the cliff with camera and boom in hand and not move for 30 seconds.

Little did he know the results it would yield. It was his first and only time seeing the milky way so clear!
