Cinco de mayo has always been a reminder of when I got my start in this crazy industry. This Friday was a little more special as I celebrate 20 years in the dubbing world! It was a crazy busy day and I got to spend it with these awesome people (the cast of #utawarerumono and the directors @mikemcfarlandva @jeremyinman @crisgeorgeva !). The projects can be billion dollar blockbusters to turds, but it’s working with a fantastic team that really makes it fun and worthwhile. Can’t wait to make more memories with all of you!!! 🥂🥂🥂

Many thanks to everyone that came to our Recording Booth dubbing challenge this weekend at @animehouston_con ! Hope you all had as much fun as we did.

I had a blast directing, and thanks to @curlyfr13 for engineering and @fealty37 for filling in and bringing the Hmart supplies. Extra special thanks to @_blakeshepard for providing all the original #robotgirlchronicles animation for us to dub to. Be sure to check out his Patreon to keep the project running!

And of course, thanks to @john_swasey for having us and to everyone at @animehouston_con ! Can’t wait to see you all again soon!!! 💗

Super excited to announce that I got to direct and record the English dub for the latest Donnie Yen movie RAGING FIRE! Not only is the movie bad ass, it rocks a totally awesome English cast with a script expertly adapted by @teedotally ! Many many thanks to @christophersabat for the opportunity, @zanegeist and @nazeehtarsha for keeping the train running, and mix maestro @rawlydon for making it all sound 🔥🔥🔥❗️

Back in 1999 I had no idea that after watching #NeonGenesisEvangelion I would be so deeply impacted that it would change everything about my life - from my love of animation and anime, all the way to shaping my career for the next two decades.

I would have never imagined that just a few years later I'd end up working at the dubbing studio that had the first US license for EVA. I faintly remember working on the Platinum Edition that introduced the director's cut episodes and the first surround mix of the series. Then around 2010 I got to work on the Rebuild movies when Funimation acquired those licenses. Now, nearly twenty years after my introduction to Evangelion I finally got to work on all four Rebuild movies. To say this is a career highlight for me is an understatement!

Despite the dumpster fire of 2020 it was great to end the year working on this project. Over the next seven months I had the most incredible time working with ADR director Joe Fria @joe.fria and Lead ADR Engineer David Cobb @dcbuttons at @dubbing_brothers_usa . The pandemic driving everything remote has sucked in many ways. But even though we were 1600 miles apart it never felt like there was any space between us, the talent, or the Dubbing Bros. studios. Everyone at DB was so nice to work with and their patience dealing with the pandemic and even the Texas freeze was amazing. And of course, it was a real treat working with some of the original cast members John Swasey @john_swasey, Allison Keith @allisonkeithshipp, and Kimberly Yates @kimberlyyat. Everyone brought 1000% to the table and I think it really shows in the final product.

I really hope everyone enjoys the final chapter of Evangelion as much as we did making it. Fans will finally get some closure on one of the most insane sci fi stories of all time. Check out all four movies now on @amazonprimevideo!

What a crazy start of the year! Things have been so busy and there’s been so many NDAs I can’t post about much. BUT #LogHorizon fans rejoice! Season 3 is now out on @funimation with weekly dubbed releases. We got the OG dub cast and several new surprises coming up! HUGE thanks to #okratron5000 and @christophersabat for having me co-direct the Houston side, my bro @nonamehoff for directing the Dallas side, @rawlydon the mix king, and @nazeehtarsha for making this ride as smoov as a cadillac. Hope you all enjoy!!! 😸

So stoked to have these guys back in the studio again!!! My buddy Chris has been battling COPD and emphysema for the last several years and was on a waiting list for a full lung transplant for what seemed like forever. His diagnosis hit right when we were in the middle of recording DragonballSuper back in 2017, which eventually sidelined him for the back end of the series. This past Christmas he finally got the transplant and has been doing amazingly well. It’s so great so see him walking up to the studio oxygen tank-free, not gasping for breath every few feet. Also special thanks to Krystal for being with him during the quarantine and beefing him back up! Can’t wait to see you guys again soon!!!
