"People queue to use your booths."

That's how Andrew Levine, Principal Workplace Lead at Synopsys, describes the pods in the company's Dublin office, the latest chapter in a long-standing partnership with Spacestor.

The brief: give people private space for virtual calls, somewhere to focus away from the open office, and quick places to collaborate, without relying on lots of traditional enclosed meeting rooms. Portals Huddle pods, customized with extra screens on monitor arms, give small teams a place to share content in hybrid meetings. Portals Quiet pods offer individual focus and private calls. A consistent cladding and upholstery finish makes them feel built into the office rather than added on.

In Covent Garden, Essenta Partners had an office the team valued: bench desking, soft seating, a collaboration table, and Palisades Grid zoning with storage beneath. As hybrid working grew, they needed more private space for calls and video meetings, without losing the open, connected feel or the look they'd built.

We explored several options with the team, looking at how the spaces would be used and how each would sit within the existing design. Portals Quiet was the answer: enclosed pods with integrated seating, finished to match the existing Spacestor pods and the storage beneath the Palisades Grid.

The result is private space for calls, focused work and video conferencing, in a workplace that still feels like one connected whole.

What if the meeting room could move when the team does?

Prime office space is getting scarcer on both sides of the Atlantic.

In London, Savills reports vacancy down to 7.0%, with West End Grade A rents around 42% higher than a year ago. In Manhattan, Colliers puts available office supply at its lowest level since August 2020, after more than 10 million sq ft was leased in the third quarter.

When space costs more and there's less of it, every square foot has to work harder. The conversations we're having with designers and occupiers are shifting with it: less about how much space, more about how well each zone supports the way people actually work.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are telling us something.

Reports show that 55% of employees now come into the office three to four days a week and most organizations now set fixed office days. Same days, same pinch points.

What we're seeing on the busy days is familiar: six-person meeting rooms booked for one-person calls, focus seekers wandering with a laptop, teams with nowhere to huddle.

What if you could shape a floorplate the way you'd shape a landscape?

Aeonica is micro-architecture for the workplace, built from five geometric building blocks: Sweep, Inverse Curve, Archway, Square Arch and Corner. Each draws on timeless forms like colonnades, cloisters and rotundas to create endless possibilities.
