A little introduction ♥️ SPÆL is wool collective made up of three sisters and aspiring «kulturtanter» with a taste for slow handicraft, good coffee, and telling each other our dreams in extensive detail.

Alvi, painter and visionary, has a master’s degree in contemporary arts. She loves dense spruce forest and everything living in it, visible and invisible.

Linnea, our versatile and knowledgeable craftivist, has studied historic crafts and sewing. She dreams of a medium-sized flock of sheep and a lush garden, and until she gets a dog of her own, she borrows Lucy now and then (she loves being in pictures, but first and foremost being close to Linnea).

Pauline, creative idea-generator and writer, has a master’s degree in media development. Her dream day consists of hanging out on her porch and counting the animals that show up throughout the day.

Trondheim smelled of wool when we visited @samfundetsinterneteater to run a wet-felting workshop this weekend! Many kilos of raw wool were turned into costumes for their new production. We can’t wait to see both the people and the costumes on stage!! ✨ by @spaelcollective

Raw wool fibers + felting needle = hairy dragon sheep diva by @spaelcollective

The pattern for the Vettegenser (Vette sweater) is out on Ravelry! (link in bio)✨

It has a chunky neckline, raglan shaping, and loose sleeves, and can be easily adjusted to your preferred length 💖

+ it’s easy to knit, and the perfect pattern for beginners (if you start know, it’s done before snow falls!! ❄️❄️)

For this one we’ve used carded and brushed wool from jacob sheep. Using unspun wool gives it an organic feel, and makes it felt as it’s used. Other options are regular yarn or raw wool, depending on what you prefer 🐑🐑 by @spaelcollective

The pattern for the Vettegenser will be released in one short week, on Friday, September 18th 🍂🍂

The name came to us early in the design process, and we felt it fit perfectly, as it nods to the folklore and the mystical landscapes that inspire us.

These paintings are made by the Swedish artist John Bauer, who is famous for depicting scenes from Nordic folklore.

Just like the «vette» appears in many different forms, so does the Vettegenser, as the design can easily be adjusted to your preference. As we say in Norwegian: only your imagination sets the limit 🌙 by @spaelcollective

VETTEGENSER 🍂🍂🍂

As the temperature is dropping, we’ve been working on making the perfect sweater for fall, and in one week (September 18th), we’ll kick off the new season by releasing the pattern ✨✨

We brought 15 kilos of raw wool from spælsau, and spent the evening together knitting and crocheting under the trees in Torshovdalen. We even got a spontaneous jew's harp concert from one of the participants!! Then we went home with full hearts and lanolin on our hands 🐏🐏

Thanks again to @grontspatak for wanting to collab with us on this! If you're between 15 and 30 years old and want to live on a farm for a while, this is your cue to reach out to them and make it happen 🐖🐄🐇 by @spaelcollective
