🦋🌿 Learning goes beyond the classroom at Spalding!

This past Saturday, Professor Amanda Seaton and students from the School of Health and Natural Sciences traveled to a Monarch Conservation Site in Spencer County, KY, for a hands-on conservation experience with @monarchwatch.

While the cooler weather kept most Monarch butterflies away, students still had a great time exploring the site, catching and releasing other insects, and learning about the importance of protecting pollinators and their habitats.

Our partnership with Monarch Watch gives students the opportunity to participate in real-world conservation efforts, learn about Monarch migration and habitat restoration, and gain valuable field research experience while making a positive impact on the environment.

Sometimes science doesn't go exactly as planned, but every field experience is a chance to learn something new! 🦋💛

This past weekend, Spalding University proudly celebrated the accomplishments, leadership, and lasting impact of our alumni at the 2026 Alumni Awards & Hall of Fame ceremony. We were honored to recognize Dr. Danelle Stevens-Watkins ’04 as the recipient of the Caritas Medal and celebrate the induction of distinguished Golden Eagle student-athletes into the Roger Burkman Hall of Fame, including Joey Lesher ’17, Kyle Jenkins ’15, Lacey Davis ’08, and the 2014-15 Men’s Golf Team. We also welcomed members of the Class of 1976 as they received their Golden Anniversary Medallions in recognition of 50 years as Spalding alumni.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening of celebration, reflection, and pride. Your achievements continue to inspire our students and strengthen the Spalding community for generations to come! Joey Lesher ’17 by @spaldinguniversity

This morning, @spaldinguniversity celebrated the Class of 2026 at The Galt House, with nearly 600 graduates receiving degrees across healthcare, education, social work, business, the arts, and more.

Thank you to @dominiquedawesofficial for an inspiring keynote that was deeply fitting for this class, and to Congressman @morgan_mcgarvey for delivering the invocation. Both brought real meaning and energy to the ceremony.

To our faculty, staff, and the Spalding community, thank you for a remarkable school year and for your dedication to our students. From enrollment milestones to the partnerships and programs we have built across Louisville, we have a lot to celebrate and even more to look forward to.

Class of 2026, go forth and dare to pioneer. by @spaldinguniversity
