🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈
For Mardi Gras this year I was asked to DJ for the Minus18 Queer Formal at Sydney Town Hall, an amazing night of pride for LGBTQIA+ young people aged 12-19. It was such a fulfilling event to be a part of, there was absolutely electric energy in the air. It was pure queer joy to see 888+ teenagers be who they want to be and dance with their friends. I was well and truly feeling myself, and as a Sydneysider it was nuts to DJ at Town Hall. I was running around every inch of that stage, dancing, strutting, and playing vengaboys. Thank you so much to Minus18 for having me, and Mason and Never Enough for making it all happen. Peace, Love, Unity, Respect. Turn Up! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜✨ taken in Sydney Town Hall by @sparkle_is_back

A key goal for DK Volumes is to unite dancers across generations, from the 2000s pioneers to fresh faces in the Australian Dance community.

Mc 🎤

Mistery - a Hip Hop pioneer and graffiti artist, Mistery has over 40 years experience in hip hop culture and has been hosting DK Volume since the early 2000s! You can spot Mistery at many Hip hop events and dance battles including DK Volumes both 25 & 26th!

Nach Pop - 1 of the early Popping instructors at DK in the 2000s who’s also judged many DK volume Popping battles before becoming the presenter of “So you think you can dance” and a Dj. Nacho Pop has been away from the Australian Street dance community for awhile and we’re so excited to have him host on the 26th!

Karen / Dragonqueen - started as a student at Dk in early 2004, she developed a deep passion for street dance which she still shares today, over 2 decades later.

Dj Naiki - Naiki San has been on the decks for over 30years and is also 1 of our OG DK Volume battle DJs! It wouldn’t be right to do this without Dj Naiki, we’re so excited for him to be our main Dj - playing for the 2v2 breaking; Kids and Popping - and maybe even a little surprise set at the end of the night?

Sparkles - our newest Dj to the dance battle world, but this 1 has a passion for music and the knowledge that goes with it too! This 2v2 will definitely be a “Party around the World” ✨✨✨

Raigo / Dj Aoki - our guest Dj 🇯🇵 for 1v1 Waacking, he has a lot of Disco music knowledge becoz his married 💍 to a Waacker 🙌🙌🙌
