I guess it’s only polite to actually introduce myself 🙈

hiiiiiii I’m Jennie

I’m an artist, letterer, and lifelong learner (along with many other things).

I believe we’re created to create and so here’s to making our everyday moments a little more textured.

-—

My hopes and plans for this page is to treat it like a “digital desktop”. Picture this: notes, inspiration, a mixture of ideas, various forms of art.

Less strategy, more spontaneity. I have a hard time “niche-ing down”, and deciding on a single thing (because there’s just so much to love!) but I know what I like and I want to give permission to other creators that it’s okay to experiment and play. It’s okay to have fun with your work and actually enjoy the process. So yeah, I don’t have a plan, and quite honestly, if I did, I’d probably change my mind another hundred times before posting anything so this is me taking a leap of faith, trusting that God’s in control of the outcome and not me. :)

**insert nervous laugh here**

for those who have been following for quite some time now, you’ve probably already seen many iterations of this account lol. thank you for sticking around 🥹

Thanks for reading along, and if you’re new, welcome! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 by @sparksandrevelstudio

Tried something new the other day and was thoroughly delighted on how it turned out for the first go. Only took me over a year to label my notebook but progress is progress and it’s better than “saving it” right?! (i see you, fellow stationery hoarders!)

Will be practicing on more things and have many new ideas on the way! 🤭

Stay tuned for a launch date.. 👀

I recently read a quote that said “perfectionism is less about doing things perfectly, and more about avoiding doing anything imperfectly” and I felt so seen!
I’ve always admired people who place stickers on their belongings so freely, effortlessly, without regrets—AND have it look like a work of art. OH to have that freedom.

This might probably sounds a bit ridiculous (trust me, I know) but it’s taken me years to be “brave” enough to actually use the stickers I’ve collected 😂 I would struggle so much with deciding and the fear of one day regretting the placement of them, or hating how it looks..

So after months of ruminating about it and keeping the stickers in the back pocket of my notebook last year, one day I took the leap and just did it for fun. I told myself if I changed my mind at least it’s on the back and nobody could see it except me. 🙈
This turned out to be pretty therapeutic. Ended up loving how it looks and that I can still add to it. A friend pointed out that they liked how I kept the front plain and decorated the back—to which was the sweetest compliment for someone to notice the little details I had thought through a million times 😅

Anyways, if you read all this, thank you 🥹hope you enjoyed taking a sneak into my commonplace notebook. Maybe I’ll share about that another time.

apparently the algo is telling me that it’s important to show who’s behind the creative endeavours (aka chaos) so here’s a fun little “get-to-know-me” 🤪

felt inspired, let me know if you resonate with any!

So I know there’s great debate and everyone has their preferences, but I believe plain pages are superior 🙈 (not to mention difficult to find)
I can’t stand lines in my notebooks; dotted is tolerable, but blank is 👌🏻

Anyways here’s a moment to highlight one of my favourite notebooks to date..
the colour, the paper weight, the texture, the pocket, the page numbers?! UGH So much to love 🥹 thanks @leuchtturm1917canada @leuchtturm1917 — 🔗 Link in bio!

There was a time when I was obsessed with the colour blue 💙 and more recently, he’s gained a friend that I think complements him well 🤭

Jumped on this trend just for fun; maybe i’ll turn this into a print or something

one that’s been on my mind the past month, in different forms.

Might sound a little silly, but when i hear the word “cast” i think of a Google chromecast and how it instantly displays applications etc. In a similar manner we should “instantly” give our anxieties over to God.

Something i need to practice

Not my best work but still a win when nap time isn’t long enough 😅

Little hands and little minds don’t get caught up in “overthinking”, they just go for it. Children teach us a lot. My initial reaction to the interruption was to move him to the other room, but his ideas turned out to be exactly what I needed to get “unstuck” and just try anyways.

Here’s to the last little bit of summer 🤭

Micro-journal entry here:
Been feeling quite anxious this week as the weekend approaches. As I’ve been praying and contemplating, this phrase keeps coming up in my head—God reminding me of the passage in Matthew 6. Jesus emphasizes that worrying won’t add another day, won’t help my cause.

So I’ve been clinging on to this thought.. (not fully hashed out so don’t come at me)
if I am just another part His creation that He cares for, I can be like a wildflower and focus on what He’s given me right now: to grow and bloom.

Here’s me trying to take steps of sharing more, in whatever form it takes. And trusting one step at a time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🥴

This one goes out to my fellow ADHDers…

Analyzing, researching, overthinking, brainstorming, and then just feeling stuck. Happens to me all the time!

I encourage you to begin 🫶🏻 it’s not as scary as it seems

This is me starting again—not sure what that looks like exactly but you can follow along the journey to find out 👀
